About the Author
Sylvia Woods, born in Hemingway, South Carolina, started the world-famous Sylvia's Restaurant in 1963 and opened a second restaurant in Atlanta in 1997. She owned a line of canned and bottled food products that is sold in supermarkets across the country.

I hope that "Sylvia's Restaurant" serves soul food that actually uses soul food recipes, because the recipes in Sylvia's Soul Food is a poor representative of actual soul food. If you are going to give recipes that are not worth the paper they are written on, then it would be better for all of those people that buy the book and expect the recipes to actually taste like the food she serves in her restaurant don't bother. I would give this book to a local thrift shop, but I would not want someone to buy it and be mislead into thinking it might contain some quality recipes.
To all of you who enjoy soul food, please beware of this book and make a better selection, there are many real quality soul food recipe books on the market.
