TLDR: the card didnt work
Improved my brother's ping by 5 fold
If your GPU is too large then this part may not fit properly like in my case. Just lucky my brother was building a PC and needed a NIC

So now I have this device. I get an 800Mbs+ connection (802.11ac) that works 100% reliably, without cables or dongles. Job done, harmony restored.
J'ai ouvert la boîte, j'ai déballé la carte réseau et je l'ai mis dans mon PC. La carte a été détectée immédiatement. J'ai ensuite installé le pilote. Aucun problème rencontré.
J'ai ensuite installé le utility et avec ça (et évidemment il vous faut votre password Wifi), 15 secondes et je naviguais sur le web.
Donc en résumé, tout fut très facile à installer et la vitesse semble très bien.
Je recommande cette carte réseau !
I first downloaded the driver (driver) from the TP-Link site because I do not have a CD / DVD drive on my PC, but there is a mini CD in the box for the driver I also downloaded TP-link Utility.
I opened the box, unpacked the network card and put it in my PC. The card was detected immediately. I then installed the driver. No problem encountered.
I then installed the utility and with that (and obviously you need your password Wifi), 15 seconds and I was browsing the web.
So, everything was very easy to install and the speed seems very good.
I recommend this network card!
pros: easy install, fast and stable connection, much better than USB ones.
cons: for some reason its not working with my Asrock Z87 Killer motherboard PCIE 2.0X1 slot, have to use one of the PCIE 3.0X16 slot which is using for GPU or others. I am not sure why, I have four PCIE 2.0X1 slots and three PCIE 3.0X16 slots on my motherboard, so it will be really nice if I can use one of the pcie 2.0, but no luck.
Would be nice if they can put system requirement on the page, cuz its only says "put the card into pci or pcie slot" on the menu.
Now I am ending with no more empty PCIE 3.0 slot.(have another M.2 nvme ssd card on the last pcie 3.0)
Previously I was using a spare TP Link router to act as bridge to receive from my main WiFi router (30 ft away) and provide internet via Ethernet to my desktop. Finally got this to make WiFi reception native to my desktop, but, this is weaker than my earlier hacky solution. I get very low signal which also is limiting the bandwidth.
Currently checking if replacing the antennae with a more sensitive ones will improve reception,
Before this I have never ever had a positive experience with wifi and gaming. I would highly recommend it.
The Wi-Fi router (Duel-Band) is located on the middle floor and the Desktop with the AC1300 WiFi card is located on the 2nd floor, there is around 20 ft in length and another 10ft in height from the location of the Router to the Location of the Desktop, even so the signal on a 2.4 GHz band still get's me 40-50 Mbps (the actual plug in speed on the Router is around 500 Mbps) as you can imagine there is a sufficient loss. But this is more regarding the WiFi signal not penetrating.
Overall for the Money it's a great upgrade if you are moving your desktop into a location where you don't have router located or for whatever other reason. I can't vouch for Gaming use as again it's a 2007-2008 Desktop and it's a Home rig vs Gaming rig.
Upon opening the package I inspected the board and noticed a fair amount of dust (1st pic) on the PCB, along with the slanted (2nd pic) connection between the PCB and the bracket it was mounted to.
I had to loosen the bracket to allow some wobble room, so as to avoid the board being partially pulled out of my mother board when I tried to secure the bracket to my pc's case (nobody likes wobbly cards).
The board seems to be operating as it should, but only time will tell if it will continue to do so. I would exchange it for another if I thought I would be given the same deal.
Also, although the rest of my hardware self detected and downloaded the drivers, I had to manually find the appropriate driver on the website and install it to use the card. This was not made easy do to the images on the website showcasing a different card, but listing the model of this card. This leads me to suspect further issues down the road.
EDIT: there was cosmetic damage on the heatsink fins (3rd pic)
REMARK: The dust suggests that the board was used quite a bit before being returned... VERY DISAPPOINTED
