This Bluetooth is easy to set up and it was recognized immediately by Microsoft Windows 10. Unfortunately the application Microsoft "Your Phone" - to make a call via Bluetooth - does not work with this adapter. Is it the adapter or the application which is at fault? This why I gave 4 stars, but apart from this little problem I would recommend this product.

Después de muchos problemas y días configurando el dispositivo, puedo confirmar que no recomiendo usar ésta tecnología, es complicada de usar si tu dispositivo no es compatible y da más problemas que beneficios si desde un principio no puedes usarlo como debe ser, ejemplo: encender tu dispositivo y emparentarlo y listo para usar, si esos pasos no los puedes hacer a la primera, preparate para una sería de problemas donde tal vez nunca logres emparentar tu dispositivo.

Me dedico a la informática pero nunca había usado esta tecnología bluetooth, ahora que me he iniciado he podido ver toda la seria de problemas que genera si te encuentras con un problema, yo he comprado 3 dispositivos receptores bluetooth para comparar marcas y aprender lo fácil y cómodo que sería usar esta tecnología y al final puedo concluír que no lo recomendaría para el usuario promedio que no conoce mucho de informática porque si llegan a tener un problema ya no sabrán cómo solucionarlo.

Empezando con este dispositivo tuve varios problemas, fue probado en windows 7 y 10 últimas versiones al día Sep 2019, el proceso fue instalar drivers para windows 7, tener cuidado de no conectarlo en un puerto usb 3 sino tendrás problemas (esto nadie te lo dirá), lo segundo es ver cómo algunos dispositivos pueden emparentarse con tu receptor y otros no podrán, lo peor de todo es que si llegas a cambiar de puerto el receptor, ya no podrás conectar tus dispositivos que ya tenias emparentados y lo peor es que debes regresar al puerto donde los tenías dados de alta, quitarlos y ahora si conectar tu receptor en el nuevo puerto usb y volverlos a emparentar (esto me llevo mucho tiempo descubrirlo), lo mismo pasaba en windows 10.

Ahora lo peor del caso es que si tienes una laptop con bluetooth y tenías todos tus dispositivos emparentados pero por alguna razón se descompuso y optaste por comprar un nuevo receptor, tendrás el mismo problema que no podrás emparentar tus dispositivos porque deben ser borrados desde el receptor viejo para poderlos emparentar con el nuevo, ese es el gran problema que tiene esta tecnología. Tal vez sea un problema de windows pero tanto en el 7 como el 10 es lo mismo. En el peor de los casos debes desinstalar los drivers de los receptores bluetooth que tengas instalados para poder usar uno nuevo de lo contrario tendrán conflictos y no quedará más que formatear tu pc para poder hacer uso correcto de tu nuevo receptor bluetooth.

Con respecto al funcionamiento una vez que has pasado el infierno de la configuración en caso de que hayas tenido problemas es que no es muy buena yo quería conectar un control ps4 y NO SE PUDO y unos audífonos sony recien adquiridos, los audífonos tenían retraso en el audio hasta 2 segundos lo cual es atribuible al receptor porque como dije al principio probe otros receptores y con esos no tuve tanto retreaso de audio, pero debe confirmar que tuve que hacer instalaciones limpias de windows porque al momento de instalar el driver de 2 receptores un la misma pc no podría emparentar los audífonos o el control, cómo que entraba en conflicto.

Con respecto a la distancia de transmisión apenas son 9 metros, a los 10 ya no es posible usarlo correctamente, empiezan el corte de sonido y el control no funcionaba bien, con el mínimo objeto que estuviera en el camino dejabas de escuchar sonido y empezaba el retraso de audio, sinceramente deja mucho que desear la tecnología bluetooth ya que van en la versión 4 y pensaba habían mejorado, yo tenía un receptor versión 1 y decidí comprar la más actual pensando que habían mejorado pero creo que es lo mismo, yo no recomendaría gastar dinero en dispositivos con esta tecnología que tiene poca compatibilidad y da muchos problemas.

La verdad después de que quería algo inalambrico termine poniendo una extensión usb y acercarme lo más posible el receptor de mis audífonos como a un metro porque si te alejas empieza el retraso de audio y hasta no reiniciar los audífonos se compone, si pasa una persona en ese momento perderás el audio por un momento o si te alejas a 5 metros empezará el retraso de audio y no se compone solo, esto sólo se note mucho en videojuegos, si escuchas música no creo que te des cuenta.

Using this adapter to pair a Bluetooth headset with my desktop, I was worried that there would be some latency. Watching lots of YouTube, I didn't want voices to be out of sync. I tried to find a reasonably priced AptX or a 5.0 adapter, but came up short.

Luckily, this adapter works perfectly with no latency. It was completely plug-n-play with Windows 10. The Bluetooth icon showed up immediately in the notification center. Pairing was simple. Other reviewers claiming drivers are an issue must either have some program conflicts, permission issues, are using an offline machine, or an IT managed PC. For a typical home Windows 10 PC, this is plug-n-play, no driver downloads required.

Range is also decent. I was able to walk to the kitchen to get a drink, 25ft+ away, and it did not lose connection. I'm certainly not using it for ranged use, but wanted to note that the distance is adequate.

I picked up this Bluetooth adapter mainly to use it for listening to music stored in my PC with a Bluetooth headphone. I want to listen to music while, for example, I am cooking in the kitchen. The setup is a breeze, literally plug and play, under Windows 10. I have no problem connecting it to my headphone and listening to music in the computer room. However, that is the end of the good news. As soon as I leave the computer room, the reception becomes choppy, even dropped completely. Avoid it by all means if you, like me, want to pair it with a Bluetooth headphone to listen to music within a reasonable distance from your computer room.

On my system (new PC build in 2020, AMD/Gigabyte X570), it installed very easily in Windows 10 and works fine for file transfers to/from a mobile phone. However, it drops out frequently while streaming music to bluetooth headphones. The same system streams music perfectly from an old Asus BT2.11 USB adapter.

(The main difference I see between the old Asus adapter and this new TP-Link, other than the Asus being BT2.11, is that the Asus used a "name brand" BT chipset whereas the TP-Link uses a "no-name" generic chipset. I don't know if that's the problem, but it's something worth knowing, maybe.)
