Sound quality: The sound quality on these headphones change A LOT when the ANC is turned on... unfortunetly for much worse. The bass basically dissapears from these headphones when he ANC is turned on and the music is not enjoyable. With the ANC off, the sound is decent but not amazing.
ANC does work well but no point using it if the music is terrible. Battery life however was good as well as the fast charging.
If you need to turn ANC on... this headset if not for you. If you are however buying this just to listen to music without ANC, the sound is decent, but then again, the price youre paying for it to listen without ANC is not worth it. I would just recommend just grabbing another Tao Tronics earphones if that was that case. Sunvalley has great customer service and I have since returned my headset.
EDIT: Sunvalley has since contacted me and allowed me to try the BH046 model. The BH046 absolutely blows the BH060 out of the water in basically every aspect. I would recommend everyone spend a bit more to get the BH046 if sound quality is important for you. Im giving the rating a 5 stars based on Sunvalley's customer service.
SOUND: Very impressed with the quality. Comparing: $0nyxm3=10marks, Id give the TTs 7.5/10. Bass cold be better and the range. But still Im VERY impressed with the sound quality!!!! Its MUCH MUCH more than a $70 pair.
ANC: TTs ANC is not quite there yet. While voices are cancelled to some extent, sudden noise get through as is. Yet to test in the bus/train.
Overall great set of cans, and happy I saved $300 and still have near same quality with no guilt. Gonna get one for wifie - So yes I highly recommend
Everything is fine with them in terms of the price point..
Except that the plastic on one side cracked when I was putting them on my head one day, and now they bend to the point where I may need to put some tape around them.
Getting in touch with seller and hopefully can get this replaced as I like the headphones.
- Sunvalley Brands were great to deal with and they organised a replacement quickly. Thank you!
Worth to purchase this product I recommend the purchase and using this product last week
Top international reviews
Note: Feel free to compare with Bose and Sony high end headphones, but know it's not apples to apples. You will be paying about 6-8 times for those high end phones and they are expensive for a reason plus the branding. But for the less than $100, these are pretty good.
I'm not audiophile, but to me, both are very good as far as sound for this price range. I listened to them side by side and can barely tell the sound difference. The TT, however, feels like it sounds better because of the comfortable "pillow" snug hug the padding has around your ear. When ANC is turned on, MPOW gets louder while TT sounds lower. A bit odd though: When you remove TT away from your head (place it in front of you) and turn on ANC, the volume sounds louder. I listened to Rod Stewart's "Your In my Heart with a good shift of sounds from right to left and TT was much crispier to me.
Both are good, and without music, you can hear that hissing or continous very faint ocean sound (at least that's how I would describe it) that is typically heard in noice cancelling headphones. I do think MPOW is just a little better. As mentioned above, MPOW's volume becomes louder when you turn on ANC, which makes me wonder...if the volume is louder, it will definitely cut out any passive outside noice :)
Mpow sticks out farther to the sides than TT because it is wider (see photos). The padding under the headband that touches your head is wider and thicker in MPOW than TT. Both paddings are good but TT feels softer and nicer. If TT's padding holds the same softness for along time, that would be great. But...if it gets flatter over time for both, maybe MPOW would be a better choice since its a little thicker. Time will tell based on usage.
THICKNESS AND PADDING:
TT ear cups are thicker than MPOW (see photo) so I prefer MPOW on this one. The oval size is basically the same. The ear pads of MPOW is stiffer than TT. TT is just very comfortable due to its softness.
AROUND THE NECK
Using it properly where the left cup is on the left side, MPOW's cups flips up, while TT flips down. I prefer TT's approach so the inside of the cup is not exposed to outside elements such as dust in a windy day. This is how I quickly determine which is left and right cups for each headphone. It only turns flat one way (90 degrees)
TT is v5.0 while MPOW is 4.1. Both worked well connecting to my iPhone 8 and no lag.
Nice case...BUT why the hell TT couldnt add a nice hook so it doesn't have to placed in the suitcase or bag? Nice protection but I won't be brining the case with me and take that space in my carry on. What a wasted opportunity and bad design without the hook.
Mpow doesnt include a case. Just a nice girly bag to hide the headphone or protect from dirt or scratches.
My overall winner here in TT. The combination of padding comfort, fit around my head, sound, ANC, and design definitely makes it a better choice. The difference in sound and ANC is very iittle. I was going to return the MPOW but it's good enough for me and I'll give it to my 13 year old son. As of this writing, MPOW was 40 and TT was 70.00. So, if budget is a big factor here rather comfort, pick MPOW.
I will be having another long international flight in two weeks and will be able to test the battery and ANC in real conditions. I will update the review sometime after that. Hope my review and my research/comparison have been helpful and saves you time.
My very good wired headphones finally died on me after 7 years and I decided to go Bluetooth even though I’ve had the mindset of wired will always sound better.
I am not going to justify spending $350 on freaking headphones, so I went down the Amazon/YouTube review rabbit hole to find some brands with more fair cost to price markup.
At the time there were no reviews on the TT-BH060's anywhere, but the reviews on the BH022's were exceptional. Since these were labeled by TaoTronics as the (2019 Upgraded) models I figured what the hell...let me try them.
The sound quality is great (sound separation is decent).
They are as comfortable as any on ear headphones I've tried. I can wear them for hours without notice.
The battery life is as they say it is which is amazing. I thought 30 hours would be BS.
I live in South Florida where our "Polar Vortex" of the past few weeks was 65F-70F and they were great walking the dog 1.5 miles. Today the heat index was 88F and I still didn't get any sweat.
The noise cancellation is very good. It blocks out lower frequencies like AC rumbling or car engines, but you still hear some mid to high frequencies. When the wife puts on those Housewives of Bravo and I'm on the laptop I don't hear any background noise; if I'm watching something (this was never the case before, especially the New Jersey housewives).
You do lose some lower frequencies with ANC turned on, but it still sounds pretty good. I feel you have better overall sound quality with the ANC turned off in general, but you do get better sound separation with it turned on...not enough for me to use it though.
I used my old Sony ANC's for flights and liked it for sleeping but the BH060’s are light years better. I expect on flights it will come in very handy.
Although 8 years have passed since those Sony’s came out, they were $200+ when I purchased them, so it does show TaoTronics is keeping up with current tech.
I'm disappointed these don't have AptX or AptX HD, but I really can't find any faults in sound quality. I hear no distortion even at max volume from music to podcasts and audiobooks. It all sounds really clear.
They do have Bluetooth 5.0 which is cool even though not even my Note 8 or Surface Book 2 have 5.0. Connectivity is excellent across multiple devices. I find it is easiest to just hold the power button passed the “powered on” notification and keep waiting until you hear “pairing”, then just select it on your device. It connects instantaneously.
The one negative I can see after some time is the swivel hinges. They move well but appear to be all plastic so I am trying to flex them as little as possible when I put them on or take them off.
Someone that works in pro audio would never be using any Bluetooth headphones for studio work. Outside of that function I don’t see how you can justify the slight increase in quality from these to the significantly more expensive Bose/Sony’s available (law of diminishing returns).
All in all, I am stunned by the quality of these headphones at this price range. I really wasn’t expecting to like them this much.
No hiss at all . I think people that get the hiss might have a bad set. My hearing for hiss is really good. Also you can actually turn the anc on without turning the headset on. I do this for road noise while driving sometimes (very nice) . These are much more comfortable than e7's and cooler. Although I could wear the e7's as long as these. The control buttons on these are a pain as you can't even tell you are pushing a button I wonder if mine are defective but I can't get ahold of the company. They still work if you happen to hit it correctly. My son's beats studio 3's are a bit slimmer but sound no better and the anc is better here. His case is nicer but this case is nice too and much better than the e7's. I really don't care about a case anyway. As much as I liked the cowin e7's I think if I'd bought these bh-060 first I would have been satisfied.
Again the power/pause button on my set is flush with no click when depressed so I'm not sure if this is correct or not? I wish TT would let me so so I could return if so.
Just like my other pair these fit comfortably and have decent sound quality that covers a good range of audio. The Bluetooth pairs without issues and works as expected. What sets these headphones apart is the increased battery life and quick charging. These headphones charge FAST.
This other feature is the main reason I purchased these and that’s the Active Noise Cancelling technology. I was very excited to try this feature out and it seems to work well. I don’t have any other ANC headphones to compare to but I’ve been pleased with these.
Lastly, these headphones have great portability since they can be easily folded and come with a wonderful carrying case. The case carries the charger and aux cable so you always have everything you need. This is my favorite feature of these headphones since I can effortlessly bring them everywhere.
Second, the noise cancellation is phenomenal for this budget. I have only tested Sony noise cancelling headphones at the store and was really not expecting these to compete with that. Though it is definitely not Sony quality, it's probably about 3/4 as good for a fraction of the price.
Sound is decent, I think this is where you can really tell the difference from top of the line headphones. It's not studio quality but if your ears are not attuned to studio quality, these sound great regardless. I will say, with the ANC turned on, you get a much more immersive experience.
TLDR: The ANC is worth much more than the price, build quality was a pleasant surprise, and sound quality is above average.
I should of read the previous reviews about the plastic arm being fragile. After six months, the right arm cracked and won't adjust anymore. It's fallen apart now. I am not recommending this product anymore. I'm going to look into more sturdier brands and read up on any weaknesses to expect. Be cautious when buying something. Check out the expiration dates for returns and support. In my case, I missed out on both and stuck with a product for the landfill. It's too bad really. I liked the headphones. They charged well and were comfortable.
A few months back we got some noisy new upstairs neighbors, one of which walks so heavily that you can hear every footstep from the time they wake up to the time they leave. To "boot", they frequently wear shoes in the house which sounds like a freaking thunderstorm. Since I work from home, I have become adept to their schedule and lack thereof.
Noise complaints only go so far. For this person to stop being so loud they would literally need to re-learn how to walk. I've already purchased ear plugs and sleep headphones for a sound nights sleep but have no real reprieve during the day other than to withdraw to some part of our apartment that might be more quiet.
Enter these headphones. I have wanted noise cancelling headphones for as long as they've existed but they always felt like an indulgence. For $40 (on sale), I still felt like I was taking a gamble on these. I could not have been more wrong.
First off, they are exceedingly comfortable as far as headphones go. I own a pair of Audio Technicas and a pair of Beats (I got mine free, they suck) and these are both lighter and more comfortable around the ear than both of those. I can wear them for hours at a time without feeling like my ears are making soup.
Secondly, the noise cancellation is truly impressive. Even if I don't want to listen to music, I can pop these on and activate the noise cancelling feature. Immediately I am ensconced in a cone of silence where the bass of every day life (and my neighbors booming hoof claps) melts away. The constant hum of heaters and electrical devices just disappears. You don't truly realize how much noise pollution exists in your life until you try this.
Thirdly, they sound pretty good! Everything I've listened to sounds clean and with the right amount of bass. I still think my Audio Technica studio monitors are a bit more crisp, but they cost a lot, lot more so they better. These sound better than my Beats any day of the week (again, Beats suck).
Fourth, I've worn them for around 10 hours total in the last two days and the battery is still going strong. The bluetooth range is so good that I can go just about anywhere in the apartment without losing connection. I can switch from phone to computer seamlessly. It all just works and works very well.
Fifth, the hard-sided case these things come with are worth $40 on their own. In fact, that's how much a hard-sided case would set me back for my Audio Technica's. It's not some dumb custom molded case that will only ever fit these headphones if you squeeze them into just the right configuration when the moon and stars have aligned (again, looking at you Beats). It's a simple, oval shaped case with a generous pocket for your cables.
Overall I am highly, highly impressed. I realize I'm only two days in and I will update this review should anything go wrong, but right now I am over the moon. These headphones have quite literally made my everyday life better.
Just a quick update to say that I still stand by this review. I've used these headphones every day for the last 9 months and they continue to be great. I've since purchased another pair of top-end Sony noise cancelling headphones because the issue has continued to get worse and I needed a backup.
While the noise cancelling is much improved on the more expensive headphones, I still use these several hours a day at minimum and the noise cancelling continues to be great. Having the two models to compare, my only additional comment would be that the TaoTronics headphones are a little creakier than the high end models, but since they cost me $300 less, it's really not that big of a deal.
Update!!!!: the material that the headphones are made out of is cheap. The headphones broke by adjusting on my head
Bluetooth 5.0 - Provides great range, 5.0 capability is fairly new and I did not come across a lot of headphones with this. From what I understand 5.0 offers higher rates of data transfer.
Great Bass and fidelity - Sound is crisp and definitely over-performs its price point.
Ergonomics/Comfort - Excellent quality and design, Looks and feels like a high end product, comfortable for long sessions. I have been wearing them at work all day without any issues. The protein pads offer excellant noise isolation and comfort. Pairs with multiple devices and remembers them, in case you need to toggle between tablet/laptop/cellphone.
Active Noise Cancellation: This model performs exceptionally well with low frequency noise cancellation. i.e. Cancelling noise from fans/dishwasher/engines etc. ANC in general does not perform well with high frequency noises or human chatter, however, it does reduce the noises couple of dB IMO. For the price point, ANC is doing beyond my expectations.
Customer service: Initially recieved a defective product, customer care was very fast in resolving the issue and sending me a replacement.
I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to try ANC wireless headphones but does not want to empty pockets for Bose/Sony high end models.
As for noise cancelling, works wonderfully. I live next to a boiler room that can be pretty noisy at night, and these headphones block it completely. Same goes for airplane noise. Sound quality is good, not great, but largely sufficient for casual listening to music or watching video. I have never actually run out of battery with these and charge them maybe once a week.
For the price, I am super pleased with this purchase and recommend it to all my friends!
