Once I realised this I checked the listing and the USB port is STILL advertised as being present. Only in the fine print do you see the other models which are not purchase-able anyway and the tick for USB present or not.
This is very misleading listing on Amazon. Very disappointed as this was a key feature I based my purchase on.
On a positive note, the lamp itself seems quite good and nice options for cool/warm light and brightness so will give it an extra star.

This lamp is so reasonably priced I was afraid it might look cheap, but it doesn’t at all. The lamp head and the base are a shiny black hard plastic and the goose neck is covered in a nice smooth rubber coating.
I was so frustrated with my current bedside lamp, I couldn’t turn it on without stretching real far. My new desk lamps on and off switch is at the base of the lamp which makes it so convenient I only have to move my hand over to reach it (I'm adding a photo of my night stand with the old lamp next to the new one).
The lamp is pretty light, yet it stands up well without tipping over unless you rotate the goose neck to the side, then it gets off balance, but there’s no need to do that since you can easily turn the whole lamp. The goose neck rotates the head backwards and the lamp maintains perfect balance that way as well. There are rubber discs on the bottom to keep the lamp from sliding too easily.
This lamp is about 14” high. The light is bright enough to make reading in bed easy but the light is concentrated enough not to bother my husband next to me (see photo).
I love the easy to dim feature, it makes getting up in the middle of the night much nicer since I can turn on the dim light and not disturb my husband. Making it brighter is easy too, you just slide your finger across the base to gradually dim or brighten the light. Or you can tap it to one of 6 settings along the dashes - - - - - printed on the base.
The lamp needed no assembly other than plugging in the power adapter. It is not battery powered, which is something I wondered. There is a booklet included in the box with info on the lamp and a contact phone number, website and email address for the manufacturer in case there are questions (yay).
I saw questions about using this lamp in an art studio. I’m an artist so I can address some of those questions. It doesn’t sit very high or put light out in a large range, but for close up work it would be great. For a small painting I wouldn’t hesitate to use it, to me it’s close to the spectrum light I use in my studio now, it doesn’t put out too much blue or too much yellow.
There is no way to change the bulb but the book says the light will last “up to 50,000 hours”.
Over all I’m very happy with this as a bedside lamp and I know it would make a great desk lamp. I may get another to use in my studio when I am doing small works of art because I can move it around to get shadows out of my way.
Edited: Make that FOUR desk lamps so far!
Here’s what’s so great about this lamp: It doesn’t just dim, it changes the hue of the color from cool to warm.
I hated led lights when they first came out because I can’t stand that blue cringe streetlamp color the marketing spin-doctors promoted as a positive thing.
There was nothing positive about it.
It was simply the only color they could get out of the infant technology, so they had to promote its drawbacks as a positive.
They do the same thing with low-tech things like kale.
Anyways, now the industry can make that warm lamp color reminiscent of the energy sucking incandescent lamps of my halcyon childhood.
Not that is was all good, as I had a maiden aunt whose home smelled of roasted chestnuts and cinnamon cookies on one side, but an overflowing cat litter box and broken dreams on the other...
But the warm lighting in her home was comforting and inspirational even though she hung a picture of the tortured face of our Lord and Savior right next to the television the day she caught me staring at the scrambled image of the Spice Channel.
These lamps remind me of those... So, I bought three so far.
Edit: Make that four.
I received it 2 days later thanks to prime shipping and it comes well packaged, very secure. I set up the neck in the position I want it, plugged it in and was impressed at the design and touch controls. I turned it on and was delighted from the bright white light that it sets off. I needed a light for my room that could bounce off walls a little, but nothing too bright like a ceiling light. I like to keep my room a bit shady. I have it on low and when setting it to the highest setting it can get bright enough to light up my whole room. I can even read from across the room where the lamp is set. I've attached some pictures so you can see the difference between the lowest setting and the highest setting.
If you look carefully, the first photo is the highest setting and the 2nd is the lowest. Maybe my iPhone doesn't catch it too well, but the light is a nice white light and it bounces off the walls well. It also doesn't give me any eye strain when doing school work. I should also add that it can last up to something like 50,000 hours. If you do that math, its something like 5 and a half years!
Good product! Buy and you won't be disappointed.
Only think is that my kids notice that it has those options so i need to keep them away of my desk or disconnect the lamp because every time they are closer they started playing with it.
Oh i got another for my mom she loves this lamp.
I've had it for about a week now and I'm impressed with the quality and the look. The lamp works exactly as it suppose to with no apparent faults. This surprised me because I didn't expect such good quality for $20 dollars. Most of the stuff on Amazon seems to be cheaply made Chinese products that will attempt to murder you in some way but not this lamp. I also left it on for 48 hours on max brightness to test to see if it becomes too hot as some reviewers have stated. I checked it every few hours and it was never hotter then lukewarm.
I'm a veteran and wake up many times during the night due to bad dreams and the dimming feature comes in really handy for when I don't want to wake my girlfriend. I also like that the lamp turns on with the lowest light setting.
The only thing that could make this product better is if it were slightly taller.
I think you would be hard pressed to find a better lamp under $75.
What was most important for me - it has the white light and yellow light, so you can choose in between, whatever suits your eyes and environment.
It is definitely Eye-Friendly, has a nice dimmer, with 5 lighting Modes and 7 brightness Levels... not gonna fatigue your eyes. Has a flexible Gooseneck and is really Great for work, reading. etc.
Solid construction and beautiful.
Thank you TaoTronics. Awesome product.
I'm gonna buy another one for a friend.TaoTronics LED Desk Lamp, Flexible Gooseneck Table Lamp 7W, 5 Color Temperatures with 7 Brightness Levels, Touch Control, Memory Function
One tip: turning the lamp off was slightly tricky, and not well documented. You need to press and hold the power icon side of the touch screen.
Pros: Diffuser cover for bulbs, so no glare, good for desk work. Also adjustable intensity - dim to bright and color - blue to orange, etc.
Cons: Tipping factor, as some others have mentioned. Bulb/top piece is a bit top heavy and if you twist it too far away from the base it will tip over. Touch on/off switch and color switch are not back lit. Hard to see in a dark area,or in the dark, so you fumble around until your finger hits it. While the intensity switch IS on a lighted "slider" like switch, you can hit the "on" button and this switch almost simultaneously - as you're hunting in the dark on a black base - and get bright light when you expected/wanted the dimmest (nighttime) setting. No timer.
If you're looking for a great desk lamp... I am kinda comparing it to another TaoTronics lamp I have on my nightstand which is a best seller here on the amazonian. Sorry, I can't look up my order but it's an adjustable neck - just not "gooseneck"/bendy but rather a folding arm with more features. It's fab except for the lack of a cover to diffuse the bright LED bulbs.
This gooseneck works for my purpose to illuminate a complicated, ill-positioned wall thermostat so that I can read it.
OLD REVIEW: Quit on me in less than a year. Here is a video of what it happening. I turn it on and get no light. I increase the brightness...no light. I turn off/on...no light.
If there had to be a "con" to this unit, it's because the kitties have turned it on by accident when roaming.
