Our first bar shampoo. I bought it for my husband to try, and expected no commentary from him. Instead, he has commented to me several times that it leaves his hair soft, without an oily residue. So I tried it. I think I'm sold on bar soap! Even though we have different needs from shampoo - he has more scalp showing ;) and I have longer hair and need conditioning - it works well for both. Safer ingredients, no plastic bottles - even recycling bottles isn't as environmentally friendly as no plastic bottles. So we'll re-order this, and try others too.
I love all of the Beauty& the Bees shampoo bars. I like to change from one to another every couple of months as my hair does best with a periodic switch. At 58 I get more compliments on how thick, shiny and soft my hair is than when I was young. My scalp has never felt better. I highly recommend Beauty & the Bees shampoo bars!
Updated review: I no longer need to rinse with vinegar. I think my hair just had to get accustomed to the shampoo. It's so great. I love it. It gives my hair body and texture and it leaves it didn't and smelling so good. I wash it twice, but I have to be matter what shampoo I use.
Original review: Great for my scalp. It lathers well. Since it is a soap shampoo you need to do a final rinse with vinegar water so you hair doesn't have residue and is soft.
I did not like this shampoo. It left my hair dull and dry. I had a lot of tangles after using this shampoo. No, I don’t need to let my hair “adjust”. I had been using another brand of shampoo bar before this and that left my hair soft and manageable. It’s NOT Lush. I don’t use any sls or sles because they leave my scalp with sores and pimples. I also don’t blow dry or use any other product in my hair so none of those excuses will work. This shampoo bar is just not very good. On the bright side, it did clean my hair. So there’s that...
This is the first product of this type that I've tried. I researched shampoo bars, read reviews and the Real Beer Shampoo Bar was the one I chose. I have not been disappointed. I have used it for 3 days now and have noticed a dramatic change in my hair and scalp. I would recommend this to anyone.
One month update - I love this shampoo bar. I have begun using it as a body wash as well. Well worth the price.
I ordered the beer shampoo to try even though I really love the Egg & lemon bar, and I have to say, I think the beer shampoo bar might even be a bit better. The smell is lovely, reminiscent of a spice tea. I like the amount of lather, and I love that I’m not putting toxic crud in my hair and down my drain. Plus, I don’t have shampoo and conditioner bottles taking up space in the shower. Win!!! My hair feels so much thicker and healthier now as well. Very happy with this company and their products. I think you will be, too.
This always leaves my scalp super clean and my hair smooth and light. Occasionally it makes my ends a little bit too dry and I just switch to the Morrocan mud shampoo bar for a week or so. It also has a really great, relaxing smell that's not too overpowering. Rosemary's supposed to help with dandruff and lead to a more balanced scalp, while the tingly sensation from mint is supposed to stimulate blood circulation and hair growth.
Not happy with this product. I had nice soft hair and it made it straw like and coarse after the first wash. My hair is breaking off and even with combing conditioner through my wet hair and letting it sit for a few minutes, I haven't been able to fix whatnot has done. Used it once and put it to the side to use for hand soap.
It's awesome and works great. I love that it doesn't have any chemicals in it too, as I am trying to live a non-toxic life. I am wondering how it lathers so well though. I thought SLS caused soaps to lather, and this has so few ingredients so I wonder what the lathering agent is, if it's not a chemical? My only downfall with this soap is right after I rinse, my hair feels sooooo thin and brittle. You get that super clean feeling, but I feels like it's a bit harsh on my hair. I ordered this brand because I read a lot of reviews saying its gentle, but I haven't quite seen that. It does the job though, and once my hair is dry it feels amazing. If anyone knows how it lathers so well, I wrote a question regarding that where all the other questions are. If you know the answer, please share! Thank you!
First day of use my hair felt great, but the second day it looked and felt like I had just poured oil straight on my scalp, leaving random spots throughout my hair with a thick coat of residue. I read a lot of reviews that recommended other products to help with this, but doesn't that defeat the purpose?
