Complete GARBAGE!

I had a set of these strings on a violin for a few weeks and, like many other reviewers, my "A" string broke. Having played violin for years and having replaced countless strings, I know this is just part of being a musician. So I ordered another one and the brand new string broke before I even got it tuned up to the note it was designed to play!! But that's not all, when I re-tuned my remaining 3 strings, the high "E" string broke!! I couldn't believe it, I have dental floss that is stronger than this junk. My advise would be to completely avoid these strings and buy a higher quality set. Believe me, they will save you money in the long run! And we should all hope that Thomastik Dominant never starts making climbing rope!

Good strings, buy extra "A" string.

These are famous strings and supposed to be the good.ones. I have bought two sets of them for two different violins. In both of them the "A" string went bad. The outer layer of the strings were destroyed, at the nut of the violin. YES, I did apply graphite for nut's lubrication.
They haven't been used much and were not that old either. Recently, I noticed that the same thing was happening to the middle of the "G" string. After I went back and read some of the reviews I found that I was one of the many customers who were having problem with the "A" string.

I have played several varieties of violin string over my thirty-four years of playing. I always return to Thomastik Dominant. These strings produce the fullest, most pleasing tone to my ear. I have found other strings to be more thin and tinny.

Just buy them. They are the best.

I know nothing about violin, but my son plays. I bought him a cheap violin off eBay. His teacher told me to order a set of these strings. He took them, changed out his violin, fixed the Bowe, and my son is still playing the violin 10 years later. Obviously, we have broken one here and there, but they are durable and sound awesome. The moment his teacher changed to these strings, his said the value of the violin tripled, and I believe it. My son's teacher has played in many symphonies and teaches music at a college. If they are good enough for him, they are good enough for me.

Given that this is a better quality string at a relatively higher price than the rest, I expected perfection. And I don’t mean sound perfection, I mean package and delivery perfection. My string package was open and the string itself was a little bent. Not satisfied with how my string was delivered. It was supposed to come as new, and although the package is labeled “new”, my string had been handled before.
