I wanted a pair of shoes that were comfortable, weather proof, and sturdy for motorcycle. Basically I wanted one shoe for everything. While these shouldn't be a replacement for motorcycle boots, it's a risk I'm willing to take and these work well for me - leather ensures dry feet, steel toe help with stubborn shift levers, and subdued look makes it professional enough for work. Took these on vacation, which included a lot of walking - I was comfortable whether in Manhattan New York, or the top of Mt. Washington.
You must buy the "right" size. I've always liked this shoe for its moderate price and and relatively light weight. Bought several pairs in this style over time from a local brick and mortar specialty store and every time the sales person fitted me for my purchase. I'd have to convince myself that there'd be some short period of discomfort while the shoes broke in. Wrong. I recently instead purchased these Timberland Pro Tiitan oxfords from a Amazon marketplace vendor and I went size up and to the widest available XW (3e) width. Zero break in time. I have since purchased another pair of these same work shoes from Amazon.com direct and am thrilled with the discomfort-free results. I work and walk/run/climb in an industrial environment that varies from gravel to concrete to steel and one draw back to the comfort of these work shoes is durability. I can cover from 3 to 9 miles a day in these shoes and the soft soles reflect the wear and tear. My goal is zero-pain comfort. If I have to buy new work shoes every 3-6 months because I kill the outsoles it's worth it.
This is my second pair of this brand and style of shoe. I wear these shoes as a work shoe in a very harsh outdoor oilfield environment. They are continually exposed to crude oil, saltwater, mud, and water. I do clean them on a regular basis, and they stand up to this daily beating better than any other shoe I've owned. Even after two years they still are comfortable and have good arch support. If you are in need of a durable, comfortable work shoe I highly recommend these shoes. I normally wear a size 14 wide, these shoes fit exactly as I expected.
They're comfortable right out of the box. I bought the first pair 4.5 years ago, and other than the some wear on the heal and sole tread, they are still viable. With winter coming, and being a volunteer firefighter, I can't go out when snow is on the ground with worn treads, hence the new pair. In the winter months I wear them nearly daily and a few times a week in other months. You can't not like them. Bravo!
The first pair we received was fine until about 3 weeks in. Then one side of the right shoe started to come apart from the sole. We exchanged it for another pair, which my husband starting wearing this week. So far, so good. The shoes are really comfortable and have relieved much of the back pain he was getting with his old boots. He is on his feet all day, so these shoes are very important
As mentioned, this is the 2nd pair of these that I've purchased. The first pair was bought from a mobile safety shoe truck that came to my work. Price was nearly 30% more than what I paid here at Amazon.
I have a normal width foot, but I buy my safety shoes in wide. This gives me more wiggle room in the toe. It's just more comfortable for me.
My first pair of these lasted 6 years, worn for 10-14h a day... 5 days a week. Sure they were looking a little rough toward the end there... but that's a heck of a run for a pair of shoes. When it came time to replace, it was a no brainer to get the same shoe again. Even found them in black... I'll be ordering a pair of these soon.
The composite toe is very light when compared to traditional steel. The sole is simple, but provides good traction in most conditions. Laces are adequate.... lasted the full 6y in the old pair. For me they require little to no break in time.... i wont say they are instantly comfortable out of the box... but close. I have them on my feet now, day 4 since new.... and they already feel like part of the family.
Buy with confidence... these are great work safety shoes.
I have worn these a week to work in. They are quite sturdy, and mostly comfortable. They are a little more crowded than my previous Dr Scholl's work shoe, they say wide but they don't feel wide. I am hoping after a little more 'newness' wears off they will begin the comfort phase
This will be the second pair I've owned. They fit a little tight out of the box, but from past experience they don't over-stretch. EXTREMELY comfortable shoes. I work in a factory with concrete floors, and these are fantastically optimized for support and cushion. Slip resistance is ok... I had a pair of Sears Die Hard non-slips years ago that stuck like glue. The last pair I owned were my favorite shoes, at work or home. The sole split all the way and across however. Very disappointed but were nearly four years old.
Best safety shoe I've ever wore, wore out between 12-15 pairs of these. I get about 8-10 months before my waddle wears out the heels, some reviewers claim to get years out of these. I continue to buy as these fit my feet out of the box and are the most comfortable for all day intensive activity. Only downsides I've experienced are the heels seem to wear fast and for some reason the right one keeps coming untied, heels probably wear faster due to the softer material that makes them comfortable to wear for 12-16 hours, I could go back 50 years and learn how to tie my shoelaces but probably wouldn't pay attention again. One of my favorite things about theses shoes is when the friendly safety ******* asks if they are steel toe I say no, after watching the veins pop out and getting the talk on safety I ask what they got against titanium, A bit pricey, but worth it.
I’m nervous about buying shoes online. Especially hard-toe shoes. I have a wide foot and generally have trouble with the toe-box.
These Timberlands gave the option of triple-E witdth. A good sign. On arrival the boots fit well with none of the punching or cutting I’ve found common from the toe protector insert.
After a week of daily wearing, I am quite pleased with these. They are an under-the-ankle High-top. For me, this means they hug my ankles - but don’t rub as I’m walking. Not at the ankle nor at the Achilles tendon.
