I wanted to like these but I can't. They look 5 years old after wearing them for a few days. After 2 weeks the rubber has started to peel back from the leather by the toe. They are very heavy. I work in retail and walk almost all day long. At the end of the day it feels like you're walking with bricks on your feet. They do absorb a lot of the impact when walking on concrete. Other than that, not a huge fan.
These shoes are what I have come to expect from Timberland. I've had these shoes for about 10 months. No issues. I wear a 12.5 but I pull the footbed and replace it with a Dr. Scholls Active Series or leave the footbed and add the Dr. Scholls; whichever gets the fit better. These shoes wear like boots, they are comfortable, and look good. I wear them all day and have never have an issue with comfort. The only negative is the laces. I double knot them because they tend to untie on their own.
I purchased this particular shoe for the last 9 or 10 years. The last shoe was three months old and the leather started separating from the sole in just three months. I purchased this pair as a replacement until Timberland processes the warranty. I was surprised to see the laces which are very heavy duty are no longer provided with the shoe. Its the same laces you can purchase in Walmart. I was very disappointed and called Timberland and suggested i return the shoe.....REALLY! I guess Timberland started making changes to save money and its becoming apparent.
These have to be one of the best shoes I have ever purchased. They strike a great balance between work boot and walking shoe. It's basically a very sturdy shoe, and the composite toe is a godsend if you work in a place where steel toe boots are not required but you constantly find yourself slamming your feet into heavy objects. I have owned my pair for a year and they are starting to showing some, mainly superficial, signs of aging, but they are still very comfortable to wear and very sturdy.
If size 13.5 was available, I would have ordered. Size 13W has always fit, but with the first time ordering shoes with a safety toe, I'm guessing the size seems just a little smaller. Already reordered the next size up, so can not make any product suggestions yet, but they seem to be built very well.
I had a cheap pair of walmart steel toes before purchasing these shoes and I hate myself for my buying these sooner! Very comfortable and have that nice dressy look to them. I work in an active warehouse so the finish/shine wore off pretty quickly, but that was expected.
