Cheaper alternative to Red Wings, but not quite as well made

Overall, these are pretty good shoes. I paid just a shade under 100 for them, and I feel they are worth it. If you're familiar with Red Wings pricing, you'll know that these are about half of what similar style RW would cost.

I opted for these because I didn't want to spend 200 on a pair that isn't going to get quite the same workout as my Red Wings - these are for work around the lab and office, but nothing as strenuous as walking around a plant for 8 hours a day. The Red Wings have always been good to me there, but they're so dang expensive.

All in all, these are a good buy. They are quite comfortable, I've had no issues wearing them all day and feeling just fine. The one downside is that the leather is clearly a lower quality than my Red Wings - it's a bit rougher and scuffs / cuts much easier. While it seems thick enough to withstand normal wear and tear, I worry about the longevity of the leather.

Still, for half the price of what I normally pay, I guess they're pretty good.

They did run a bit large for me - I normally wear a 15 and the 15 in these was too big. I stepped down to a 14 and they're pretty good, so I'd say they run about one half to one full size larger.

I use the shoes everyday for work and are comfortable for my feet 5 days a week. I'm in and out of a machine shop were all the sharpness is located. Soon I will buy another pair. Well it happened. My shoe snagged on a piece of metal and tore the toe from the steal. So, I ordered another pair I like. The same ones. They’re comfortable lite in size firm soles (not the soft ones) and are water and oil proof. To add to that I have spilled a little bit of oil on the left shoe once again by accident on the right wiped it off. On the way home stopped at the store where they just finished washing the side walk down hit a puddle and the water beads off. Great style shoes.

These are very comfortable tough boots. They are not waterproof, and do not claim to be, but are water resistant as long as they are not submerged in a puddle. They didn't really need any break in time and were comfortable right out of the box. I recommend.
