Yes, your dog, if determined, WILL get through the toy and destuff it at some point.
However, it takes them five times as long as a regular toy, and once partially destuffed, the toy still lasts and lasts, giving value for money in my eyes.
Word of caution, if it has a squeaker in it, keep an eye on your dog if it is a destuffer as you will have to retrieve it before it gets chomped. The squeakers are housed in a small white pouch and sewn into the toy, so they are super safe, however, my dog makes a bee line for the exact place the squeaker is placed, as might yours
Overall, these are my toys of choice for sheer longevity if nothing else.
Bought this for a pair of Cockapoos (about 12kgs each) who love it.
Guess many people buy toys for their dogs like this, throw it down for them, then whinge the dog has shredded it ina few hours.
Obviously not good pet carers
Designed for you to play and interact with the dogs, as are most pull toy, just to to keep it simple, stupid!
Tuffy toys have stood the test of time, which is why they are the one and only toy I buy for my dogs these days. They are lightweight (good for throwing around the house on those rainy indoor days) and robust, and because of the many layers of stitchng they resist ripping and chewing exceptionally well.
This is not to say that they CANNOT be ripped into - they can, but they take far longer than normal to do so. I bought this exact item three weeks ago and it is still whole. At the same tme we gave them another less durable toy (a gift from a friend) and it was a heap of stuffing and "WHERE IS THE SQUEAKER....." in about five mins flat. The tuffy toy is chewed but whole.
If the dog does breach the toy, you CAN resew the seams and repair them, just use ultra strong thread and remove some of the stuffing (and any nearby squeakers) when you do. I have one that I have been systematically reducing in size for about a year now.
Highly reccomended for the type of dog I have, although I am not sure how it would work with smaller or larger dogs. Please be assured, mine are supreme destuffers, so to get a toy that withstands them where a pair of jeans and a small carpet did not, is nothing short of a miracle.
I am happy with Tuffys ultimate range and their toughest (mega) range.
My dog but a whole in this black but on this but I cut off the threads and took note as to how he did it. He picked and picked. So I just told him No and have learnt to take it away once he begins to do that.
It took him some time to pick at it. (5min) so I would say play fetch with this but don't leave your dog with it after because with any toy if they are determined they will destroy it.
I feel these tuffy toys are excellent ( I have a few - the tug ones are our favourite) because unlike ripes and plastics they will not damage the inside of my digs mouth when we are playing.
If you have a dog that doesn't pick and just bites down then it is unlikely to damage this at all.
It cleans well as you can wash it!
I have a very destructive Husky, she ripd stuffing out of soft toys in seconds and i was getting exasperated by buying her tennis balls and her ripping them to bits.
She has now had this a month and there is not a single tear in it anywhere, i am amazed.
1stly its massive which is cool as it keeps her more occupied, there are multiple squeakers in it, not all of them worked but for the price i didnt care.
I had seen these in pets at home for 4 times the cost and so bought several from here
Worth every penny.
This tug toy is great! I have watched him have a go at chewing on it and it has come out unscathed!
The toy is long! Check out the measurements! Good for me as it creates some distance between the dog and I. Having three holes gives him some flexibility as you where he would like to get a grip on it.
A top tip is - if you have a terrier breed or a dog that likes to destroy toys ( I know my dog would love to) don't leave them with the toy for too long. This has made the toy last and had saved me a lot of money.
If you have a bigger dog go for the mega - it's got the top toughness and had slightly bigger dimensions. This ultimate range is 1 below on the toughness scale and it's dimensions are perfect for my staffy.
I would say it's a good quality toy but not for any dog with sharp teeth like puppy's.
We originally got the bone shaped version when he was around 6 months, it's still going and is only now starting to develop rips.
This ring is great also but as you can see in the photo attached...he can't actually see where he's going. He loves it though. The squeakers keep him interested and he just loves it for a chase.
