Disappointing. Not for wider based baby monitors

Was excited to receive this mount, however cannot use it at all. The base clamp is too short for my cot and the monitor clamp itself does not hold my baby monitor which has a wider base (I have the nannio comfort just in case anyone else is considering this). Should have read ALL reviews thoroughly before purchasing it. Very disappointed!

You're probably here looking at this if you need a way to hold your baby monitor at a distance from your kid and don't want to damage the walls, or you need a way to hold the monitor while traveling. Great, it works well on the flexibile arm front and holds popular cameras like the Infant Optics Dx-8 (which i don't recommend because it will break down on you about a year in).

But here are the problems:
1) The cushion pad on the clamp to furniture end will quickly compress enough to not allow sufficient grip of your furniture without damaging it. This occurs even faster if you need to remove and install it again often (e.g. traveling). So now whatever i clamp it to, i leave gouges in the clamped surface so I'm back to just clamping it onto the pack and play wall where my kid can grab this mount because i don't want to damage other people's furniture (too late, found out the hard way at a friend's house).
2) The camera holding clamp does not have sufficient grip to really hold onto the camera securely if your kid can reach the mount's neck and shake it (because of issue #1). Other similar products either come with a Velcro strap to securely keep this clamp end closed, but this cannot accommodate one because of the clamp opening mechanism being in the way. It would be better if the clamp's grip material was more flat but thicker to give it a bigger surface to grip.

So these are two pretty big issues for me that I'm now hunting for a replacement.

Buyers Beware! Not as Pictured or Described!

Received email on Feb 27, 2019 from the seller informing me that the version I received is an updated version that is supposed to be stronger, so I'm updating from 1 star to 2 for the prompt response from their customer service team. Unfortunately, as a result of the changes made, this "universal" holder no longer is able to stably support the Infant Optics DXR 8 video monitor. There is too much wobble of the monitor, which is quite problematic with an active infant or toddler in the crib. If purchasing this item for this particular monitor, look elsewhere. I can't speak to how well it works for the other monitors this product claims to work with, but hopefully it still works well with some of them.

I ordered this and got a completely different looking item than that pictured in the images, so I thought it must be a mistake and had it replaced through Amazon. But the replacement looks exactly the same as the first one I received, still looking nothing like the images. What's going on with this product? Either they changed the design without updating the images and website description, or this is not the real deal. Buyers beware! I will be returning AGAIN and trying a different universal baby monitor holder.

I usually write very few reviews and bad ones are a rarity from me. But I am writing this one as this product could have injured my newborn in her bassinet.

This product seemed great and had the potential to solve our baby monitor's camera mounting problem on our Fisher-Price bassinet. It worked like a charm for a few days. We mounted a Motorola camera on it, which raised the first red flag as the camera holding clamp could not hold even the lightest weight and moved towards the bottom. The bigger red flags started when it fell completely from the bassinet infront of our guests one day. Today, this thing has fallen for no particular reason in the bassinet, TWICE, after making sure that I tightened everything. Thankfully my baby wasn't in the bassinet otherwise it would have haunted me for a long time.

TLDR: may work for you in specific circumstances but it's not universal at all. YMMV!

This is not universal. It doesn't work with the baby monitor cameras that have 360-degree rotation (with Nooie Monitors). When the camera is rotating, it could possibly fall off on to your infant. As per my observation, the monitor holder is not holding the camera tightly and loosing very easily. Definitely, this mechanism is not good enough to hold your monitor and DO NOT PUT YOUR BABY IN DANGER…

overall i’m disappointed with this item. i bought it based on the reviews as well as what i needed it for. however it doesn’t fit on my baby’s crib at all! i’ve tried several spots and it doesn’t open wide enough to fit on any of the edges. the worst part of all is that the camera does not fit safely inside the holder. it’s already popped out and fallen off into the crib, thank God she wasn’t in it. disappointed to say the least

The grips that hold the monitor fell off in less than 4 months, faulty glue!

I thought this was a great product, even though I had to make sure it was secure as the grasp would weaken on the crib rail due to adjusting the arm

Then both rubber grips that hold the camera in place fell off, thankfully this didn't happen in a way that injured my baby (camera could have fallen on her head!)
