Bought this because I just got a new sofa and was worried that my 1 year old cat tried to tear it off like it did to my old one.
It was easy to apply. I trimmed his claws first. Put a little glue in ten caps before applying them so that the glue begin to dry a bit before the application. Press a little on the cap when on a claw to make the glue spread inside the cap.
I watched my cat for at least 30 mins after the application, he was trying to bite them at first, even manage to take one off. I just put a little more glue and put it back on. I distract him by playing with him and giving him some treats.
It's been 2 days now and it seems my cat doesn't notice them anymore.
Be warned that it is a strong glue! Kind of like Crazy glue. Try not to spill any on yours fingers!
I'm giving 4 stars just cause I don't know how long they will last. Great product overall for the price.
The shipping was very fast so I will rate high for that reason. I usually buy the higher quality, far more expensive Soft Claws. You only get 40 in a pack and they cost over $20, so this seemed like a nice alternative and would save me money. I read reviews prior to purchasing because they were on the lower price scale. Everyone warned to size down so I did. I usually get a size small for my cats, even though they're adults (they're so tiny). The sizing difference is crazy. I ordered small and look at the size in my photos compared to the small I usually buy. I think that even if I were to size down to XS, they'd still be too large, unfortunately. Size at least 1 size down, if not 2. They're also much softer so I can see my cats chewing through them. I havent tried them because they're too big so I can't rate the longevity of the glue. They also smell very toxic like cheap plastic, so I'm afraid to even try these on my cats. Perhaps if they were aired out for a day or two they'd be okay.
I wish they were the proper size so I could give a full review and wouldn't have to return them.
These are a great solution to save my furniture! I was so tired of my cat scratching alllll of the time and refuse to declaw her. These are a safe and easy way to save my sanity and my couch. We got a size small, and had to coax her with treats to sit still. I recommend having one person hold the cat and feed them treats and the other get the glue ready and put on the nail caps.
I love all the bright colors and am excited for them to fall off so I can put on a new set!
Well there are ups and downs to this product. Ups are they work when it comes to protecting furniture. Downs are almost impossible to put on your cat unless your cat likes when your playing with their nails. And 2 I would recommend wearing some type of gloves because I got nail glue all over my fingers and it takes days to get it off.
Some were unusable and defected due to the them being paper thin or just way too small. Otherwise, they are decent value for the money. My cats chewed off the ends but they still seem to function okay.
they are great for the price. Definitely cheaper quality than the more expensive alternatives (soft paws), however the glue is sturdy and they last a similar amount of time. It comes with lots of glue so no worry of it drying out/not having enough. I recommend to wait until your kitties nap before applying :)
Some nail caps were extra small sizes in the bag of smalls that I ordered.. but it kinda worked out just made sure to put those on her smaller claws.. lovely colours for a random assortment and some cute sparkly one too!! Definately worth ordering should have done it sooner and saved my couch lol
At first these seemed great but after a week, my cat started to chew off the tips. Now his claws are sticking out the front (scratching the furniture) and I can't get the rest of the caps off to apply new ones. Maybe I didn't push them far enough onto his nails?
