My cat likes to scratch at our sofa at night when we're sleeping. I'm firmly against declawing, so this is a great alternative! Plus my cat looks super cute with colourful nails! I used to buy my nail caps on eBay for a bit less $, but shipping from China was too slow. Love Prime's fast shipping! Nail caps come in a cute plastic container and in 5 different colours (20 of each).
Love the little case they came in! Great variety of colors, lots of glue. These can last anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks depending on how annoyed my cat gets with them! She sometimes bites the tip off, but they are easy enough to replace. For anyone wondering how to get them off, use some nail clippers or small scissors and cut a slit across the top, then peel the edges and it comes right off. Make sure to praise your kitty and give lots of treats!
These were garbage. The tips ripped off within 34 hours of application but 3 months later the bottom halves of the pieces are still stuck to my poor cats nails. We can't even apply better quality new caps because the bottom piece is stuck. Waste of money. Buy better quality so you're not full of regret and your couch doesn't end up shredded still.
These save my couch and window screen and he still has so much fun playing it doesn’t hinder him. They are great! It takes two of us to put them on I use a treat as we do it. The odd one falls off once in awhile but you just replace them as they do. My kitten is use to them already. I put the pink on so I could see them haha.
First, keep in mind you want the cats to be able to retract their claws when sizing the nails! If they can't do that they won't like them and therefore won't leave them on. Worked really well for my one cat, no trouble getting them on and they stayed for 2-3 weeks. My other cat chewed them off in 2 days. I mean literally chewed, he didn't pull them off, he bit through the actual covers. I do think the sizing is wrong; the cat that did like them is about 15-16lb (big-boned and chubby) and the small's fit well. But on my other cat (who hated them) is about 14lb (just chubby) and the small was a tad big. Overall for the price, I'd say give em a try, but don't set your hopes too high.
Glad I bought these. Shipping was fast. The sizes are large so if you are looking I suggest maybe getting a smaller one, that being said you could easily cut off the excess amount with scissors. They were pretty easy to put on a sleeping kitten if you have delicate hands lol. but I can see how difficult it could be to put on if your cat isn’t compliant. I was worried about getting glue on his toe hairs, it’s very strong/crazy glue. I would much rather not put enough glue and have them fall off then too much and have them stuck to his fur. If you use the provided glue tip and don’t overfill the nail you should be fine. My cat has full mobility in his toes/paws but no longer pierces us, the dog, furniture. It’s humane & they aren’t causing him any trouble, still does scratching motion. The nail covers are a softer rubber than I assumed they would be which was nice. I know they aren’t the “name brand” but so far so good for me. The only thing I wish was that you could pick the colours they come in, also comes with an absurd amount of glue lol.
This product came in only two days so that was amazing. Also, the colors are really nice and, overall, everything seems durable. It also came in a cute little box that keeps everything together. I do not have my cat yet, I'm supposed to have it in a month, I might post an update once I put the nail caps on my kitten in a few weeks!
EDIT: These are great! My kitten finally got big enough so that these fit on his claws. I had a bit of a struggle to put them on at the beginning, but after a while I got the hang of it. Just be careful not to put glue on the fur as it is pretty hard to get rid of. Keep a bottle of nail polish remover at hand. Otherwise, they look Greta and my kitten doesn't seem to notice them that much and they have been one for 3 weeks now. It's a great buy!
I have two 13lb cats, I followed the sizing chart and it worked perfect. My guys were cooperative enough but they have to be watched after they get put on or they will pull them off. It's been 3 or 4 weeks and they've only managed to scratch/pull/outgrow one or two off.
Other reviews have said that the first times you put the caps on your cat will likely chew them off. I put the caps on his front claws and he has been trying to chew them off for days to no avail. I accidentally got the glue on my finger and it literally ripped part of my skin off. These caps are glued on until he sheds his claws FOR SURE(Which is a bit disappointing because we only put the green caps on to get him used to the caps and then put the hot pink ones on). When the glue was wet he kept trying to chew it off which if I let him, he probably could have gotten them off then but I put a cone on him until they dried. For best results: Use a cone, and SERIOUSLY do NOT get the glue on your skin. (Also please avoid getting it on your cats skin because the glue does burn)
looked amazing so easy to install stayed so long that I had to go to the vet to get them off impossible to remove and even with the cat asleep it was near impossible to remove the glue sticks so hard and the plastic is soft so they grow whit the claw my cat couldn't walk at the end I can respect making a living but not at the expense of my pets health horrible peoples with no moral compass
