Bought this after leaving our previous one behind when travelling. This works even better and replaced the old camera we had.

You can control the camera from the video screen if your little one moves around a lot like ours does. Picture quality is great in natural light or night vision.

Good but some flaws

Got this to replace 8+ year old Vtech baby monitor. The video clarity is much better but I was disappointed with the 1/2 second or more delay in the audio compared to my older one as well as the button functionality. The circular button with the arrow selections doesn't work right - when you press down, the up arrow activates and it takes several attempts to actually get the selection to go down. Something about that wheel is defective. Also, I don't like how I have to press the "Select" button after adjusting the audio to my desired level before pressing the "exit" button. I'd like to get it to what I want and then just be able to press "exit." Returning because of button defects.

Perfect for toddler room

We found ourselves in need of a second monitor when we had a second kid. We decided to get this for our toddler’s room and I might need to get one for the baby’s room too! The camera has a very broad turn radius so if he gets out of bed, we can pan the entire room to see what he’s up to. The picture is also so much more clear than our motorola monitor, including night vision. I can see my child’s face when the room is dark where my other monitor would be blurry. Sure the screen is a little small but I kind of like that the monitor itself is much smaller than our other one. We generally leave it plugged in overnight but the battery life seems really good on this too. Honestly I really like this monitor, ESPECIALLY for toddler rooms!

Flashing light, doesn’t mute

This product would have been just fine if not for 2 super annoying features.

Annoying feature #1: Sound doesn’t mute. On the parent unit it allows you to turn the volume all the way down to mute but then turns back on maybe 5 seconds later.

Annoying feature #2: Bright light on child unit. Since the parent unit doesn’t mute, I turn it off when not in use (aka when I get into bed, right next to the crib or when I have to resettle baby back to bed - no point in having the whole house hear me struggle to do this). But when the parent unit is off, the child unit blinks a bright green light. What is the point of this? To let the baby know that I’m no longer watching? Eye roll. Of course I could just turn off the child unit but I’d rather not risk fumbling with it while the baby is sleeping.

I’ve tried to cover the light with FIVE layers of electrical tape but the light still finds its way through some part of the unit. Blah. Likely returning.

UPDATE: finally decided to return this. I tried to make it work but I just found more and more annoying things over time. I ended up covering the flashing light by wrapping a fabric headband around it. I thought that would ease my annoyance, which it did for a while. But then, one day while doing loud-ish chores I turned the volume on the baby unit all the way up. My baby woke up but I didn’t hear him cry until later because the unit automatically turned the volume down to level 1. So basically this monitor does not mute OR increase in volume. Maybe my unit was faulty, who knows. But this is def not worth $70! I switched to Eufy which was double the price but it’s already a million times better and functional!!

TLDR; Don’t waste your time or money. This is so old school - it should not be on the market anymore.

Nice lil monitor for the price

The screen may be small but it's fine for me because I only need it for bedtime. It works while I'm across the street at my neighbors, the battery lasts all day and beeps when it's low. The volume isn't too loud or quiet for us. Picture quality is fine but when my kids running around it kind of lags like an android phone camera would, so if 1080p quality is what you want this isn't it. For 60$ I'd definitely buy again for another baby. Not to mention the monitor has been dropped several times and hasn't given any issues.
The only thing that's slightly frustrating is sometimes the buttons on the monitor to move the camera get stuck, so if I want to move the camera down, it may go up until I keep clicking down. Not the worst thing tho, I can deal. Definitely wish I invested in one of these sooner !

Battery life is good, sound is very good, pans and tilts well, picture is fine. What I like best is that I can go into another room and carry the monitor with me so I can do laundry, go upstairs for a while, etc. without having to run back every 10 minutes to check on him. It is LIBERATING! I've had it a week now and no problems with any aspect.

I really like this monitor, but every once in a while it will just refuse to connect to the camera. This happens mostly when the room is both light and dark. It's like the camera gets stuck trying to decide between night vision and color vision. It's a pain because you have to go in the kid's room and turn the camera on and off to get it working.

Other than that it's great. I really like that it has a temperature function. My kid's room is sometimes hotter or colder than other rooms so it's nice to see if a window needs to be opened or if the heater needs to be turned up. Also note, this version CANNOT be expanded to 2 cameras. I found this out the hard way and wish I'd purchased the one with 2 cameras.
