Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum? While Eau de Toilette contains 5-9% of perfume oil, Eau de Parfum usually contains 8-14%. Eau de Parfums therefore last longer and smell more intense. Natural or synthetic fragrances? Perfumes with natural ingredients often smell different in batches based on the source of the ingredients, while synthetic ingredients usually have consistency in their smell and lasts longer. Notes and different smell after application? Perfumes are often designed with top, middle and base notes, and designed to smell different based on the time after application. For example, some top note citrus scents smell stronger immediately upon application, while a lavender middle note may be sensed after some time from application as the top note evaporates.

• Fragrance lasts longer on damp skin and blooms when worn on moisturized skin. Apply your fragrance right out of the shower while your skin is clean and warm. Your pores are open and can soak up the fragrance. As your skin warms up during the day, the scent of perfume gets released slowly. • Spraying fragrance on the hair can also emit a good amount of perfume. However, fragrance should be sprayed on freshly-cleaned hair as unwashed hair contains oil and dirt that could distort the scent. • Fragrance smells best when applied to the warmer parts of your body. Apply to pulse points where the heartbeat is apparent such as the ankles, back of the knees, bends of the elbows, wrists, cleavage, bottom of the throat and the back of the neck. Furthermore, spraying at the ankles makes the fragrance blossom. You don't have to spray EVERY pulse point. Keep in mind what the fashion icon Coco Chanel said: "Put on perfume where you'd like to be kissed." • Each person has a personal "scent circle"- no more than an arm's length from the body. No one should be aware of your fragrance unless he or she steps into your "circle".

“I have never smelt any Vera Wang perfume before so it was interesting to try something new. It was not too expensive - I have paid far more for a perfume before - so I was comfortable with the price and the amount in the bottle, 1oz/30 ml.
I am not sure what age range this is aimed at, as I can usually tell, but this did confound me a little. It has the lovely aroma of green tea and pear blossom – at least, I assume the other smell is pear blossom, as I’ve never smelt the real thing – and they blend well to produce a fresh and light perfume.
I like it, but it is not a lasting perfume; it is one that you do need to reapply after a few hours, unlike heavier ones that stay with you for a long time.
The aroma of the green tea hits you straight away and then another smell comes in just after that (presumably the pear blossom), which eventually is really pleasant, but before that comes through it has a chemical smell which hits your smell receptors and refuses to budge for a while.
My daughter tried it, and did not like it at all; she is into more natural perfumes, so this confirms my suspicion that it is largely artificial. She agreed with me that it is more a product for the older person.
What is strange about the box is that the bottle needs to be removed from the bottom instead of the top, unusual to say the least. I do not like this, as sometimes I have to leave my perfumes out in the daylight, and prefer to keep them in the box to prevent deterioration of the essences. The bottom opening is proving to be a bad idea, as the bottle keeps falling out as I pick up the box. At this price you don’t expect a luxury box, but you do expect a box which functions adequately.”
For a 30ml bottle, the bottle was bigger than I was expecting though not as big as the box it comes in would suggest. The green Vera Wang Embrace box that the perfume comes in would easily take a bigger bottle. The 30ml bottle is actually held in place with a card insert - something to bear in mind of you are buying this as a gift. You do open the box expecting something bigger than what is in there.
Overall - really liked this, wish it lasted a little longer and am just dropping the one star for the disparity in size between packaging and actual bottle.
I like drinking green tea but not sure if I want to smell like it ! But this is basically a fresh floral smelling perfume. It has a very little citrus smell and it’s not the kind of perfume that people are going to notice .
More for the fresh aromas for yourself . It has bergmknt in it as a top note , meaning the first smells that develop and I love bergmont as it helps lift your mood . It also has pear blossom and this is more noticeable than the green fresh smell of the green tea.
Overall if you like subtle , soft smells more to enhance your mood and subtle this is ideal .
A 30ml bottle which you need to remove from the box and then dispose of the packaging as the perfume comes out through the bottom and if you replace it after use you have to be very careful that it doesn't fall. It looks lovely on my dressing table is lovely to wear no not too expensive, love it.
This is a cheap perfume currently priced under £15 and you can tell.
It's light and undertones are sharp but there is nothing nice about this at all. In my opinion it smells like a cheap and nasty perfume not even as good as the copycat brands that they now sell in the fashion chain stores.
I actually love Vera Wang Princess, which smells like a nice quality perfume, . But this has no Echoes at all of previous Vera Wang perfumes that I have smelled.
In fact I dislike this so much that I wouldn't even keep it just for going to work. It's a yuk from me I'm afraid.
These are nicely presented with quite simple styling of both bottle and packaging. I agree with other reviewers that £19 for 1 fl oz (30 ml) is quite steep given that it is an eau de toilette (which you spray on) rather than a perfume (which you can use more sparingly, and would expect to have more staying power).
Having said that, I do like the scent itself and it doesn’t feel (or smell) like a cheap perfume. The first impression is quite bright and floral, then the sandalwood and musky scents come through, giving interesting layers of perfume.
After an hour, the fragrance smell has totally dissipated. Such a shame! Downgrading this from 4 stars to a 2 stars.
