Last time I’ve seen this type of knife was over sixty years ago from Renna Ware door sales that my mum had. Now that I have the perfect knives to slice tomato’s however thick or thin or whoever is doing the slicing without making a mess squashing them. They glide through without strangling the tomato’s trying to make a start with the great design of the blade. I’ll definitely buy more for family members for what they are and how they perform these knives aren’t expensive at all. I never place good knives in the dishwasher, I rinse them off and dry them with a paper towel.

I purchased my first Victorinox knife in 2015 back when I was in the UK on exchange. This knife is EXTREMELY cheap and great value for what you get - it's very sharp and cuts cleanly through everything (even those squishy tomatoes) and easy to handle being lightweight. I bought it again in 2018 when I returned to London. When I left London this year and came home, I knew I had to buy it again so here I am with another tomato knife from Victorinox. I love this brand and I'm super picky and selective with everything. The one I most recently received was scratched (pictured) but Amazon very speedily replaced it with a brand new knife. So happy I can get these knives from Amazon as I wouldn't know where else to get them for such a great price!

Victorinox 6.7831 Swiss Classic Steak Tomato Knife. Had one of these for 10 years - never needed sharpening and used it daily until its blade snapped off. So, just had to replace it. Super sharp so watch the fingers. I use it for peeling and chopping soft and hard skinned fruit and vegetables; slicing bread sticks and rolls; buttering; glides through meat. Blade and Handle lengths 11 cm (4.25 inches). Sits comfortably in hand thanks to ergonomic groove. My other larger expensive knives are sulking in their knife block as I can't stop using this.

These are fantastic little knives. Sharp as hell, but can be used for slicing and also buttering bread, so multi-purpose little critters. Great for utility knives in the kitchen, but would also be great for camping.

Honestly, this is a must have. The serrated edge makes cutting things like tomatoes a breeze. Sometimes I don't even bother using the other knives in my drawer because this one is so good.

The rounded tip is useful, it prevents me from digging into plates or being tempted to spear food in the pan. It cuts fruit with minimal pressure when using the length of the blade to slice (like a small saw). Handle is ergonomic and nicely made. The blade is deceptively sharp. A very understated knife that performs well above supermarket knives in the same price bracket. It also carves cooked meat well. I will however look for a non-serrated Victorinox for potatoes and things. A pointed blade is useful for digging out bad bits and opening packets. Just a thought if you are only considering buying one knife for every kitchen task. This might not be it.
