I’ve had this tire for about two weeks or the trainer. Couple of days ago I noticed this tiny red particles all over the floor and bike frame. Touched the surface of the tire and it seems that it is breaking down. Not sure how long this tire lasts. I was happy until I found out this which may be a bad tire sitting in the inventory for long time. Hope vendor reaches out to me and send me a fresh tire. I will update my review if the do so. Until then I just want you to be aware of the situation and it may not last very long if you expect few months or maybe more for this to last.
I just installed and rode this tire for use on a Kickr Snap. The tire installed easily by hand on my trainer rim, ( a dura ace C-24 Tubeless rim). I have had tires that were bears to put on this rim. Next, it's QUIET. I didn't realize all the sound made, was from the tire. Like everyone else, I used my old street tires and I had to turn the tension knob 3 1/2 turns to get spindown under 15 seconds (at 110 psi.) I pumped this up to 115psi and only had to turn knob 2 1/2 turns. They also all delaminate and wear out fairly fast. So far it's a winner, and I'll update after a few hundred miles as to durability. ***UPDATE*** I bought 2 of these tires. They work great until they blew out the sidewall. They each lasted about 1000 miles of trainer use. On to a different brand
Tire is starting to Shred. Trainer has been calibrated. Pressure is spot on. For some reason the tire has been getting noisy then I noticed its starting to Shred pretty bad. Not sure how long it will last. Previous reviews were good. Current product, not so good!
This tire is poorly constructed. I have already changed 3 bike tubes since I purchased it in January 2017. I keep my road bike tube inflated to about 110Psi. The instructions say 150PSI. I used it from January 2017-Feb 2017 and then Dec 2018-current on an indoor trainer. Purchased this tube for $22.00/ Should have bought a better quality indoor tire.
The tire performed well for a few months of indoor riding but then the tube developed a slow leak. I inspected after taking out the tube and found that the tire developed a rough spot on the inside and wore the hole in the tube.
Not sure if this is a random defect or an inherent product flaw.
I had one hell of a time trying to get this on a 700c rim, even after soaking it in hot water. And punctured the tube as some others did trying to mount it. Not used on the trainer yet, waiting on a new tube. I wish I would have just bought a regular tire.
I have used a few trainer tires from different brands and can not recommend this one. Within a short amount of time riding, red dust from the tire could be seen all over the wall behind my trainer along with my trainer mat. It wears way too quickly.
