To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I have had three of these in about a year's time. The first one stopped transmitting sound to the second TV set just shy of a year. Nothing but intermittent scratchy sounds. Nothing that resembles the sound of what is on. The second one stopped after about a month. The third one never did transmit sound, right out of the box. Great picture though...
So yeah, shame on me two times.
They list an email for customer support, but they do not return your emails. So CS support is non-existent. And the problem is simply too technical for Amazon's product support.
Buyer beware. It works for some and does not work for others.
We had our A/V guy install one of these and about 90 days later it began to stutter - struggling to maintain a connection to the remote receiver. "Remote" is a relative term, but the receiver is within 25 feet of the sender!
So we ordered another one, same brand, same model, from Amazon on April 16th of this year, installed it, and it is now "stuttering" again, failing to maintain a connection between sender and receiver. So, we will not be buying a third one. Save yourself the aggravation and find something that works. We're going to hardwire the cable link to this TV.
I quickly received the unit and easily installed it. The video was great but the audio would frequently turn to loud static (apparently can't transmit through a wall). A reset or power cycle was always necessary to re-establish a complete connection. Amazon graciously replaced the unit immediately. The second unit performed exactly the same way. It has also been returned (great service from Amazon). Right now I am waiting for an Amazon refund and have proceeded to install a hardwired connection which is working perfectly.
Almost a year has past of using this. It is now broken. Audio is transmitted but video is not. Replacing HDMI cables did not fix the issue. Unplugging for 10 seconds did not fix the issue. Transmitter is zip tied to wall mount behind TV. Receiver is zip tied to wall mount behind 2nd TV. Only a Roku is connected to the transmitter and the Roku is set to deliver content at 720 resolution. The video quality is fine because action movies do not show motion blur. I removed 2 stars because the system has a noticeable time delay in the audio between the 2 TVs. The delay causes me to mute the 2nd TV and turn the primary TV up too loud to project audio across the room to the 2nd location. But I want lagless audio at that location, so now I am trying to figure out how to carve speaker wires into my walls and attic. Or buy a better model. I have edited this review: It is now 2 years. It works, it still has the audio lag. It goes blank after power outages. Recovering from a blank screen involves power cycle both the transmitter and receiver. Because it sends a signal to a secondary TV, we learned to live with the blank screen for a while until we can power cycle both the transmitter and receiver.
When I first connected both the transmitter and receiver, it worked great. Good video and sound. After 90 minutes, I tried to move the transmitter box to the back of my TV, the transmitter stopped transmitting. I tried resetting both boxes many times, but fails to transmit. I had to return it. That's really too bad because when it works, it was great for hour and a half.
Bought this to add a tv in another room. Set up was easy and worked great on the receive end. The problem was the pass thru HDMI on the transmit end didn’t pass video. Could hear audio. Tried 2 different TVs with same symptoms. Had Amazon send a replacement. The replacement had the exact same problem. Bought the Micca system and it works perfectly. Easy setup and clear picture on both TVs.
Units were within 50ft of each other with one wall between them, and video would drop and not come back for a while. Did not display video for more than 5 minutes at a time when this would happen. Not worth your time or money.
I expected to wirelessly extend my HDMI connection. Unit did not pass/transmit HDMI, no picture. Got 'no signal' at receiving end. May have been bad units. I did not want to experiment, returned to Amazon. (Who thinks of those 'Rating Features'? How would you judge 'sheerness', 'thickness' for this item? This is a wireless HDMI extension system.)
I purchased this product and when it works, the audio/video works great but I have to constantly reset both the transmitter/receiver. Got tired of the repetition. I discovered Comcast has the Xi6 wireless box. So I will try this to see how it works. Unfortunately I cannot return this device. The return time has passed but I will contact Amazon for a refund.
