Got these for my boyfriend’s cat. Attempted to apply them while she was sleeping, but she immediately caught on and wanted none of it. Managed to get 2 on one paw, and 4 on the other. She immediately ripped one off with her big tiny razor teeth, leaving one bright green one on her middle finger. Now it just looks like she’s constantly flipping me off. I’m starting to think she did it on purpose, but I’m not saying I don’t deserve it. Anyways, she spent the next 2 hours with the other paw in her mouth, trying desperately to undo her new manicure. We even tried to give her some Benadryl to try and get her to chill out so we could finish the job, but she hated the taste and outsmarted us once again. Needless to say, the ones that we managed to get on her have stayed on, which is nice because 5 tiny claws in your leg at 7AM are better than 10. I advise pre-medicating and not underestimating your boyfriend’s cat’s ability to outsmart you any day of the week. Maybe next time.
This is the worst product I have ever purchased on amazon. They neglect to tell you that the adhesive tube has a head you have to clip off with scissor or a knife, and as soon as you do the adhesive comes pouring out (you don’t have to squeeze...the adhesive is an extremely fast moving, fast binding liquid) and will get all over your fingertips/hands. Good luck getting it off! It’s utterly impossible once it is on your skin, so now I get to wander around indefinitely with this adhesive stuck to my fingers because of horrible product design. I can’t imagine how uncomfortable this would be if a small amount got stuck on a cat’s skin. It’s just grossly negligent to sell this adhesive for this use, it’s unfair to everyone involved.
The product also appears to be a knock off based on the packaging once it arrives. I assume many of the positive reviews are fake.
First things first, this seller responded in a very timely manner and my product arrived pretty darn fast. Packaging was such that it protected the product, while in route, very well. The product was very easy to use. The hardest part was getting my cats to sit still for it. But they were adorable afterwards and I was so glad to be free of their claws snagging at my skin. Thank you so much! I'll be back for more!
UPDATE: The seller has reached out to me and is sending a replacement product to make up for the missing pieces. I have tried the product now and it does work nicely. I’m using them on a 12 week old kitten and had to trim the xs caps down a little bit to fit and it’s much easier to apply with help to have another hand to hold the cat down with.
I actually haven’t tried the product yet, (so will update once I do) but I received the product with only *95* Pieces so that was a let down. I was gonna start with the sparkly pink when I realized I only had 5 of them... every other color had 10.
What a great way to stop the cats from putting their little feet into the furniture! I ended up getting a new couch and the kitties doing what they do ended up putting their nails in the couch a few times and I didn't want it ruined. I would never declaw them and was looking for a way to stop it without covering the whole couch with something ugly and I hated. I ended up trying these and they are adorable and do the trick! They were a little difficult getting on a first you need more than one person. One has to hold the cat if they're a wiggle worm and the other to glue on. You just put a bit of glue into the nail form and make sure the fur is pushed away from their nails and slide right on. Don't get me wrong they weren't the happiest pair after they got their nails done but that only seemed to last for a couple hours. It's been a few days now and they seemed to have forgotten all about them being on and I've finally found a great cheap way to save furniture! I love that you get a bunch of different colors and there's ten of each color.
I am really grateful for this product. My cat was destroying my home...Not just clawing furnishings, but climbing drapes, screens and wall hanging. Since getting these on, he paws these things and treads, still but it creates no damage. Putting them on it not too bad, recommend wearing plastic gloves and not over filling the nail cap. Still, you can find your fingers sticking to things. My cat did manage to get one of 10 off in the first hour (he was pretty proud of himself and used that claw to scratch everything). Although he was annoyed by them at first, he adjusted fairly quickly. There is so much more peace in the house now...I am not having to put him away or reprimand him constantly, so he is much happier cat. So far after a month only one has popped off. Ideally a 2 person job, but I managed solo.
It’s saving the furniture and after a harrowing application the cat doesn’t seem to mind them on. We started with a matching set but have been replacing them as they fall off one at a time. One had punctured through but the remainder have held strong. Pros, they are reasonably sturdy, appear not to bother the cat and no damage! Cons, the application process can be challenging depending on your cats temperament and the nails are longer than the claws are so the make a tapping sound when the cats walk by. I definitely recommend for destructive cats.
Kittens (esp. rescued strays who don't have Momma cat training) use their claws because they are babies and are not attentive to interacting yet or socializing. In a few weeks, at about 12 -14 weeks, your kitten will gain control of clawing and for the most part won't scratch you anymore. Wear slacks/jeans to protect your legs, cover up your arms. My legs look like I've run through barbed wire - hot bath soaks, moisturizer, retinol and an antibiotic ointment - in time they'll heal. I clip Georgie's nails regularly and apply antibiotic ointment; another matter where he's learning to cooperate. I never applied the nail tips. Better to spend the time playing with Georgie or watching him and Maggie (my dog) chase each other. A well loved kitten will grow into a devoted pet - he never extends his claws anymore when he plays with me or with Maggie. Such a delight, I love him!
We would not have gotten these unless we had to. Our cat scratched our baby, so instead of getting rid of her (& since declawing is not an option we'd consider), she will just have pretty nails for the rest of her life. Easy to get on, I like that they're almost a silicone/rubber feel. I'm very glad I read the review that it takes two people. We just gave her lots of treats after while they dried so she would be distracted.
My cat keeps chewing through them, I had bought cheaper ones before and they worked great and she didn’t chew through them but nearly every nail she has managed to chew through and then I can’t get them off so they just sit half of the nail at the bottom. As for the glue, everytime you open it it’ll spray you, your surroundings and your skin, putting on the little funnel attachment it will leak from the sides so more gets on your skin, also if you overfill it (no indication until it’s all over you) then it’ll get over you and your cats skin. I would not recommend this brand of them to anyone.
