New review: This is the second pair of these I've bought since November, so on the face of it not so heavy duty. But I've walked miles with my dog and these are comfortable and have loads of grip and dry out well when they do get waterlogged. I do like the lacing, though it's not perfect, and I do think the sole should have a touch more wear in it, but I have hammered my first pair and I can find another use for them now the grip has gone a bit. All in all, superb shoes/ trainers
During my holiday, I walked around 60 miles in these shoes and, as you might expect, I developed quite the blister on my right ankle. The left shoe has been totally comfortable from the very start so it's not all bad. Once this golf-ball sized blister heals, I feel I'll get a lot more miles out of them
However, after 2 months of ownership and daily dog walks across fields/woods/paths etc they are wearing in well and get more comfortable by the day. Approximately 20-30 miles of walking before they started to wear in properly.
Now I love them, the soles are VERY GRIPPY and much better than the Salomons they replaced, leaving me confident of the grip whatever the terrain. Only criticism is the lacing method/grip can be a little stiff at times and difficult to release. Overall a great pair of cross trainers, personally I rate them better than my Salomons (in grip & fit for me) and would buy them again.
Only slight draw back is I feel that the Goretex lining doesn't allow my feet to breath much. Might just take a wee while to get used to the warm feeling.
All in a cracking shoe with great grips.
The sole isn't as flexible as I am used to, I am not sure if they will perform if I take them to a run, but for walking in the city they are very comfy so far.
The build quality is exceptional, even for an Adidas.
I had to go a full size up (from 10.5 to 11.5) from my previous Adidas. I find the chinese made Adidas to be half a size smaller than the Indonesian made !!
I may update the review after I put on a few miles on them, but I am optimistic they will be just fine.
If you are looking for a lightweight hiking boot then definitely give these a try.
