1- yes, you can watch prime vid on both phone n tv.
2- the stick can help yr tv connect with your home wifi.

I’m not sure but I’d imagine the fire stick would have the exact same function as Apple TV so would you need both?

The fire basic stick is a piece of junk compared with the sticks you can get in the US and their functionality while this is the generation to most of the good apps are blocked by Amazon Australia but nothing is stopping you from sideloading them as it runs on Android and functions very similar
