You don’t need to transfer. Them, they automatically transfer when you register your New Kindle purchased in Australia. Your books on your USA Kindle will transfer without you doing a thing. I haven't faced this personally, however I am sure I read that once you register the kindle all of your books are available to every device.

Yes if they are in the Kindle app on your iPad they will be available for download to your Kindle once you log into your account.

Battery charging is not related to book content or memory usage. so no.

Deletion may require restoring from archive then normal delete steps, never done it yet, I am a new user of ereaders.

If you decide to purchase the full book after reading the sample, it will redownload as the whole book and it won't read 'sample'. However, the sample version will also remain in your library as a separate book; I usually delete the sample, if I've purchased the entire book.
