My Amazon Echo, in fact all models at market with screens work absolutely perfectly in Australia
All have to do is ask “Alexa show me the front door?” and she says “okay”, and then you see on the screen briefly

Yes. You can tell it to turn off the screen. That said the auto brightness adjust is awesome, in darkness it will auto change the clock to a black background with red text.

A hub is required depends on globe depends on the hub you use I use zigbee items in my house ... light globes and switches with nue hub works great with echo products ... have fun cheers

I don’t know that answer but if you’re worried about it listening to you, it’s just a quick easy push of a button to turn the speaker and camera off. Defeats the purpose of having it if you do.
