Wes Anderson’s most personal film. Rushmore is a quirky coming of age story, with excellent performances from Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray. I personally think this is Bill Murray’s best film (apart from Lost in Translation), and it’s interesting that he has appeared in every Wes Anderson film since. An emotional film with pathos. Anderson screen tested thousands of actors for the critical lead role, and was about to give up and go to the UK to cast a British actor, until Schwartzman’s brilliant penultimate audition (which was the final US audition), and Anderson immediately knowing he had finally struck gold. Highly recommended. Rarewaves UK thanks for the always excellent service. (BTW - For Australian buyers, my copy was most importantly Region B).
