I have both Google Home mini and Echo Dots in the lounge room and the bedrooms respectively. I used to put them on the floor, desk or bedside table. I found it really handy as the mount allows the smart device to stick on the wall which keeps the room neat and tidy. It doesn't affect it's functionality at all. A must buy if you have a few of these lying around like me.
