Setup was a breeze, and the app is super slick. Simply created a network with the same name and password as my existing, and all 30 odd devices in my home immediately connected to the 3 Eeros. With the app I can see which devices are connected to which Eero, their signal strength, and even see how the Eeros are connected to each other.
Some of the reviews mention they had issues with complex networks, and I can see how that could be the case. But these devices really aren’t aimed at super advanced network configurations.. if you’ve got a normal home network, want visibility over what’s going on in your network such as connected devices, signal strength, IPs, etc - plus the ability to do standard features such as reservations and port forwarding, then Eero is excellent. I especially like how it groups devices such as Laptops/Desktops, Smart Home, Speakers, etc.
I was initially concerned about only being dual band, but performance so far has been great. Even with 30 devices connected, I can max out my internet connection even when connected to a satellite Eero, getting the same speed as the Ethernet connected router Eero (which is about 260Mbps on my HFC NBN connection).
All-in-all, very happy. The look nice, are super compact, and my entire house is showered in strong wifi.
