5.0 out of 5 starsBe pulled into a world through dark, yet captivating writing.

Daniel Greene pulls you into his world by weaving plot and characters with his dark, yet captivating writing.

I must admit I am not a fan of horror or reading grizzly details of terrible murders, but I both read and skimmed these parts, without any loss of the storyline. These detailed descriptions, which I was warned about, were the only things I did not like about this book, although I am sure there are many out there that appreciate them.

What I did appreciate is, that I came to care about these characters in such a short time, which takes some brilliant writing skills. Also, I had a bit of a giggle at Greene’s take on the character releasing the breath they didn’t know they were holding -
“Khlid realized she was taking a drag from a cigarette she did not remember lighting.”

This short book was a real page-turner. I would recommend this book and I look forward to reading the series to come.

This feels like a first act and not a complete story. There isn't much by way of resolution and it would be nice to know a little bit more about a literal God showing up in the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent debut

This story is a fantastic, self contained freshman entry to what hopefully will become a prolific career as an author. The plot is tight, the pacing swift and steady, and by the end leaves the reader wanting more.

Mr Greene has delivered a tantalising glimpse into a well crafted world and overarching conspiracy in a tale that easily stands on its own and does not use cheap tricks to force you into needing the next instalment for any sense of satisfaction. No. What he's done is complete a story, and built the intrigue and world so well that simple fascination leaves you wanting more, despite the satisfaction.

In short, an astounding first step into published-authorhood. Can't wait to see what's next.

For a debut book, this is a fantastic release and had me hook, line and sinker into the world building and of the characters.

This novella peppers small lore-building tidbits throughout and it has me ravenously craving more from Greene and what more he's going to do with this world he's created!

Very Orwellian, dark and gritty. Loved it

5 stars - an exciting start to a new world. Lots of action, and hinting at a very detailed world build - but we’ve just started to scratch the surface.

Like everyone else who has followed Daniel on YouTube these past years I have been hearing a lot about his writing progress and wondering what form it would take.

Happily it seems that Mr D Goblin has quite the knack for writing a good story. This hundred page novella is quite an engrossing little tale, readable in one sitting and opening up a lot of threads for the future.

A self-contained detective story hinting at a much bigger world, the characters were decently fleshed out and a lot happens in the short page count without it ever feeling rushed.

A very impressive first novella, well worth a read.

I could not wait for the release of Daniel Greene's debut novella - A Breach Of Peace, so I read the kindle version and finally got my paperback copy.

This dark, gritty, industrial world is well crafted in it's short amount of page time. His expositions are stiched in seamlessly, immersing further into the story. Greene touched on character work, world building and plot just right for there to be an equal amount of everything in this book.

The novella packs a bit of a punch, especially at the start, just like he warned. I love gore, slaughter and death in fiction, I like to be made to feel uncomfortable and have a morbid curiousity. That first opening chapter was the crème de la crème of that. Not too much, and left a little to the imagination.

**MINOR SPOILERS**
I also loved the depth Greene went to imitate sheer terror within his characters. I could feel it, I could taste it. He wrote a particularly terrifying scene that I felt was so accurate regarding thought process for any character in that situation. Survival instincts kicking in, after witnessing something so devastating and life changing but having to run for your life. Vomiting from the emotions flooding your body, having no choice but to stop and rest because you're exhausted, grieving and downright petrified, but getting up and carrying on anyway. Greene also reflects back on grief and despair frequently after that. Rather then what we see so often - our MC going through this traumatic experience and it's never divulged again because the story needs to continue. I loved that. He knows what a reader wants from a story and I'm just so excited to see his writing supply us that in his future work.

The only issue I had was that the dialogue did not flow as freely as I would have liked. There were interruptions of description that could be quite jarring and pulled me out of the story. I understand description needed to be nestled in between some dialogue to give us some context and show body language. But my qualm was that the dialogue was great, and the characters bounced of each other and gelled so well. So at points I did not want the description, I wanted what they were saying especially in scenes that had some momentum going.

I just wanted to write about Greene's writing techniques in this review, go on Goodreads or Amazon if you want to check out what it's about. Help support self published authors and buy this book!

I've been watching Daniel on youtube for 3 years now and watch all of his uploads, him and Murphy are my favourite. I'm so pleased to see the hard work, the determination and the devotion he poured into the crafting of this story is paying off. I hope he has great success in the future with his writing career just like his well established booktube channel. PEACE ✌🏻
