To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Bought this book in good faith as an early learners instruction manual. A few pathetic diagrams that are available anywhere on the net and a few tired songs that aren't worth the time. However it promises access to online tuition via an activation code. Try it and you will find it doesn't work. That ,the reply told me, is only for teachers and you need to purchase another book for that. What a shonky arrangement. A complete and utter waste of time and money. This is just the kind of product by some charlatan who wants to make a quick buck by selling spurious material to unsuspecting individuals. This kind of thing gives the online marketing scene a bad name.
Sensible approach, quite detailed info on position, technique, fingering etc. I’m a complete novice, hoping to be able to play modest melodies with a pleasant sound. This book would seem to provide what I need.
A cello student I knew liked the book. She stated that it was a solid page after page sequential set of instrutions. I think, however, one cello teaher or more?? complained that the author incorporates using the 4th finger so early on the cello. I don't know. The students I know never complained.
It's fabulous. I am self-teaching during lockdown and it breaks learning down so well I am really enjoying it and have just bought the violin one to help a very frustrated violin player! Short, achievable tunes and good online support too.
