Sweet book for girls starting potty training. It is American English but we just swap ‘diaper’ for ‘nappy’, no big deal. Lovely ending where the girl in the book says ‘I am proud of me’ - lovely words. Very positive little book, my child enjoyed it.
I hadn't realised that this is an American book and so the word for nappy is diaper, but you can do a substitute when reading. The illustrations are sweet and though it is a bit lengthy for her age, I am hoping it will help encourage her to use the potty instead of throwing the potty away!
my daughter who is almost 2 years. loves me reading this book to her. she relates to the character "hannah" and hannah's potty .
she now actually wants to sit on her potty instead of fighting me to not sit on it .
the story itself is a very good one. showing different stages "hannah goes through" until she's potty trained.. starts by recieving her potty as a present.. then learns what its for.. she has a little accidents , and sometimes misses. but when she does go in the potty she "feels PROUD of herself" and she gets to go a choose her new underwear is pink :)
its nicely illustrated .and i would definetly recommend as a book to introduce potty training to your little one.
My daughter loves it. Shes only even 2 yet. It has lead her to try to use the potty a few times, initially only in her clothes to bare bummed and once she surprised us with a wee! I keep meaning to tape over the word diaper to the worst nappy 🤦🏽♀️
This book got my girl potty trained!! I will buy a copy of this for every friend who has a baby. I want to get the one for boys just for me to read to be honest, but Also, I can imagine the other one would be great for explaining boys and girls are.... Different ...but my daughter loves this so much knows off by heart, and after being trained a little while now, still occasionally will take this book to do her business, just like Hannah!
My family live in UK and this was purchased through the Amazon uk website. I looked at the pictures instead of reading the description in detail. The book is OK but with lots of "diapers" and "Mommy" which need translating as your one year old and make it difficult if older children want to read it to the little ones. Disappointing.
While potty training didn't happen when we first bought the book, my daughter was definitely interested as a result. Particularly as she had many similarities with the girl in the story. She still likes to read it even now that she's potty trained so definitely recommend.
My little girl loves it! She's been very unwilling to have any potty related conversations and rejecting potty training, but since she warmed up to this book she's been talking about Hannah and potty all the time. Which is a great step forward for us!
