As promised, the songs are appropriate for people who have a basic grasp of musical notation: keys, accidents, repetitions, little more. You will want to learn to use the two hands independently to some degree before diving in, otherwise it will be hard to get a feeling for the melody. Nothing too demanding, so don't be scared. The musics are easy to follow and memorize, and there's a good musical variety. It is however missing lyrics! Some are hinted in the last page, but if you're trying to learn the songs as a whole, not just the music, you'll have to look elsewhere.
The book has some lovely songs and are fairly easy, my problem with it is most of the songs are for harps with sharping levers. I think it would have been nice to have 1 or 2 tunes that were really simple to start you off. I recommend "Teach yourself to play the folk harp". It has everything you need to start playing and the easy songs sound good.
