5.0 out of 5 starsA great inspiration at this time of COVID19
Reviewed in Australia on 12 April 2020
It’s Easter 2020 and like so many others across the globe during the COVID19 pandemic I am locked away in my home trying to stay safe and keep others safe. Finding meaning in my isolation and separation from family and friends is probably one of the most important aspects to my mental wellbeing right now. Victor Frankl found meaning during his time in the death camps of Auschwitz and Dachau, surviving and ultimately thriving.
While I and my fellow companions around the globe may not all be faced with such challenges, Frankl’s work has helped me find great meaning and purpose in my life during these times of uncertainty and fear.

2.0 out of 5 stars A lot of questions unanswered

A first sight this seems to be an inspiring book however saying that giving meaning to life is the key to good mental health is too superficial. Which meaning? there is no reference to ethics. One could say that the Nazis gave meaning to their lives however the price for a huge number of people was extremely high so linking this to ethics and the good of society is crucial. Furthermore after looking into the biography of the author there seems to be some discrepancies between his account of his time in concentration camps and the written records which remain unexplained and this casts doubts over the honesty and aim of this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dispassionate & dry
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 April 2019

I bought this after it being recommended by Edith Eger in her book ‘The Choice’(which is an exceptional & inspiring read). This book however was a real disappointment. I’ve read many holocaust memoirs & this is the driest most dispassionate by far. The second part about Logotherapy was utterly dull & unclear (despite me having studied many schools of psychotherapy in my training).

The book came with a clear defect on the cover which is terrible said as we choose to buy a paperback instead of an audiobook, so at least the book should come in an impecable state.

The book convey a great message that inspite of difficulties in life you still can find happiness. Weather you laugh or cry at a situation is your choice. Being in happiness is a choice. It may seems difficult but with practice and right attitude one may cultivate it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Aburrido
Reviewed in Spain on 2 April 2019

2.0 out of 5 stars Book size is TOO SMALL

The first impression on receiving this book is that the size of the book is too small, and the font sizes are miniature sized. Its going to be a challenge too read this book.
