This is a nicely balanced collection of pieces for intermediate-advanced harp. Many pieces are not playable with lever harps (switches are too quick, some notes are too high / low for anything but a 47 string pedal harp), but I suspect that's normal with a book like this. I'd agree with the other reviews that say the title is misleading, as these will certainly not be the "first" 50 songs you learn, but it is a good selection to add to my repertoire.
Received this today and enjoyed reading through several pieces. I play at an intermediate level and found the arrangements accessible and the I liked the selections that were included. I really wish this was coil bound or available in PDF.
Misleading title on a fantastic harp book. These are definitely a great selection of pieces every harpist longs to play, HOWEVER the arrangements are more suitable for advanced-intermediate lever harp players. The notation is excellent! Lever and pedal markings are clearly written. Chord markings are included as well, making it great for improvising fresh accompaniments over the repeats or playing duets with other instrumentalists. This books has saved me countless hours of arranging (and money), so that I can spend more time practicing!
Nicely written scores that are large enough to see when placed on a music stand. Pieces are written at an early to late intermediate level. Yes, there are several pieces with lever changes. The selection of pieces is fantastic and varied. A must have for your harp book collection!
