To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This book is primarily information that can be quickly found on the internet. I found it to be more confusing than if I were to just be given completed tabs for songs I actually wanted to learn. It may be helpful for some, just didn't help me much.
I have a couple other do-it-yourself banjo lesson books. In comparison, this book has a teaching method that I had a rough time wrapping my head around. Look for something else if you're learning on your own.
There is some useful information and good instruction in the book, but... The CD which should be very helpful is totally worthless! Really, .cda files!? I guess ya' really gotta' love Windows, and have a special place in your heart for Windows Media Player! Mac and Linux users don't count for much anyways. If they had to go the route of having to stream the audio from the internet they should have done it as a iOS, or Android app. I just love trying to sit in front of a Windows PC with a book and a musical instrument!... Such joy!!
