Videos are great but the actual songs need to be slowed down or a way for us to slow them down when you are trying to learn these cords.. Learning the different strumming patterns is great but not a strumming pattern that includes releasing the notes on and of which is not easy to do especially as a beginner. It is hard enough to get your fingers to play the cords fast enough. He does make mention that repetition is key to success and I would agree to that. I guess this can be one source for learning to play the Uke but not sure it is the best.
This book did not make me interested in playing the ukulele. I went through the first few pages and it was dry, complicated, and difficult to follow. I started using Yousician to learn the uke, and after about 2 months I'm still actively learning. I think I would have lost interest very quickly if I had stuck with this book alone.
I have to agree with a few other purchasers, the songs are a bit inappropriate, and dated. The songs mostly contain themes of murder, and aren't even the type of song typically played on the uke. I do enjoy Bert Casey's primer books for a few instruments, but not this one.
