I have these on two out of my five guitars and they've served me well. No issues so far, but I've heard horror stories about the ball bearings failing so on my most expensive guitars I have switched to a different straplock style.
Sure it's cool to have the peace of mind that your guitar will never fall to the floor but the bearings get dry very very fast and it doesn't feel as smooth as day 1 after 2 weeks of use. You need to lube the bearings and that means that if you take the strap off you risk getting your clothes dirty with wd-40 grease.
They work, but I'd go with the chrome ones. The black ones are painted and seem more likely to bind and turn the strap mount in the guitar. Rounded out the screw hole in the guitar in a matter of weeks
The Dunlop strap locks work pretty well, but the standard hole cut in a standard leather strap is not big enough to accomidate the locking buttons. The strap has to be modified by increasing the size of the holes. This for all intents and purposes means that you will not be able to use that strap with standard strap buttons ever again.
They do work as advertised and they are easy to take on and off for strap adjustment when required.
I love these strap locks, so when I found some on here for cheap I was all over them. Shipping took a little longer than expected but they made it finally. No more neck dives or straps falling off my Epi- bird now!
