To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I purchased this strap based on the fact that: 1) A friend of mine has one and the quality is good; 2) Recent reviews appear to suggest the strap is good quality (and I specifically noted this point in determining whether this quality had been maintained). So I was expecting to receive something very similar to the version I have seen - with good quality leather. What a disappointment. At first glance the strap is similar, but upon closer inspection turns out to be a poor imitation of the original. The leather pieces have not been stitched on straight, but worse still, the leather is of the 'cardboardy' variety and half the thickness of the original example. It is the type of leather which would probably break in half if flexed once too often. I assume at some point the manfacturer has seen fit to reduce production costs, but this strategy is false economy, because sooner or later the drop in quality will impact sales. What a shame. One might argue that the quality is in line with the price - but if people (like me) are purchasing based on legacy example then this is irrelevant. Plus: 1) I would rather pay a few more pounds for the original quality; 2) I have seen better quality straps for around the same price.
A bog standard black no frills guitar strap that does what it is supposed to do, it holds my guitar secure and is comfy in use the leather ends are quite pliable from new and not too hard getting them onto guitar strap buttons plus I get the Ernie Ball logo on it just to remind me what make of strings I use as well I have a fair few guitars so have a fair few different straps as well, this strap does not feel cheaper than ones that cost 2 or 3 times the price, if you want flashy or pretty look elsewhere if you want one that works and do not care about being a poser then this one is great
Bought this for my son who until now had refused to wear a strap and was struggling with the heavier riffs to balance his guitar and get the timing right. He loves it, and now wants more for his other guitars. Excellent strap.
These straps are great! Only strap that's long enough for me, and the quality is amazing for a budget strap. I use these on all my guitars both in the studio/rehearsal and on tour and I've never had a single problems with them at all
Just needed a guitar strap quickly, and this was it. Not at all bad for the price. Will no doubt upgrade to something a bit more luxurious if and when my playing improves. All in all good for the price.
Great value - I have a few of these permanently attached to my guitars at home - cheap and effective - for a gig you might want (and pay) more but these are perfect as a cheap and effective option in a neutral black.
I’m a little disappointed! Had one of these many years ago and expected the same quality... it’s not that bad, especially for the price, but it’s less well made and seems less robust than I had hoped. Quite thin (width) strap that’s not as comfy as other cheap straps I own. It’s a great spare though and for the money you can’t go too far wrong.
It's probably fine for lighter guitars, but I've been using this strap with my Fender Precision Bass for almost a year now, and it won't stay in a fixed position, due to the weight of the guitar. This strap has no "notches" for different heights, which causes it to slip over time, and slowly lower your guitar. Overall, it seems durable, but it won't stay in place, and it's not the most comfortable strap I've used.
