Suitable for most people (but people will inevitable drop WAY more than they need because oo shiny tingz.. like my friend who spent 150 more than I did for a barely perceivable difference (coming from a low key audiophile)). I use it for home karaoke with a mixer with EQ settings on board. Mum is happy with it, I’m happy with it, my wallet is happy with it.
These mics are wonderful, I use this mic for podcasting and it works well as a back-up mic and still sounds good. Typical male connector on the back that comes standard with all microphones and it’s cardioid pattern works well for keeping just the speaker in focus. The 58 is still the industry standard but as a back up or if you are starting out then these will work wonders.
I bought these pre-pandemic for a project I was working on that ended up getting postponed until recently. I plugged them in, and found out one of the mics works great, the other was dead right out of the box. Sound quality is good on the one that works, but I wish I would have just spent the extra $60 for a better quality microphone.
I use beta sm58a. Got this mic for girlfriend. Only issue is we have to turn gain levels up a little more than mine and when we do, it picks up subwoofer bass and causes minor feedback in certain environments.
Overall great mic but recommend spending a little extra on shure's higher end mics to avoid this issue.
