Just bought a house and needed some gloves for general renovation. Bought 28 Mar, started working over weekends on the house mid-June. Now it's mid-Sep and took about 4 weekends off for holidays. About 20 full work days. Index finger worn through on both sets. Middle finger as well on both sets. All fingers will be worn through by Xmas. Today I just moved 3 tons of rubble down the stairs wearing them ... maybe I'm too tough for the gloves. Moved, made, pour concrete slabs with them usually very abrasive work. I'm right-handed so they wore out first.
Having said that, some equipment should be looked at as a consumable item. Perhaps these are. I couldn't find any better gloves in the sub-£20 range when I bought these. I don't want to spend more in case I lose them (thrown out with the waste.)
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Probably fine for general gardening and non-abrasive (building/demolition) work.
I do factory work and stand there hours on end with a nail gun and these gloves are a god send, they work wonders. I was using latex gloves before and they where sore on the hands but these have padding and are very comfortable the only issue I have with them is they could do to be a little bit more grippy but part from that they are good and the reviews on them aren't that good but the people that leave the reviews use them for the wrong things I read some of them and don't use them for what they are made for I will be buying more :) over all a good buy
That's my second pair. Previous last around 6 months. Highly recommended . As a electrician using them for 1st & sometimes second fix. Really strong soft material fits perfectly around hand. Update: 4 weeks and this is the end... stitching disintegrated....several holes .....and I hve notice they nearly double the price....so less 3*
Purchase these for doing some mechanical repair work on my car. They appear to be good quality and after using them for a couple of days I'm very happy with them. They are medium-duty gloves and seem to allow for a degree of dexterity when for example undoing nuts and bolts. Perhaps a bit pricey for what they are, but they do save your fingers, and will hopefully last longer that the cheapo gloves I've tried before.
This item is normally a great pair of gloves I actually love these gloves, the first pair i had was from a mechanics workshop, previously used, after being used for 6 month I had them for a following 2 years.
But these are AWFUL the stitching is of a terrible standard, these seem like a C Stock pair of gloves, yet you pay over the odds for them. so after 2 weeks of use they ripped!!!! the double stitching was so far apart and the finger tips loosely stitched they dig in a leave a bulbous end at the finger, make it near impossible to work with this pair of gloves...
I liked these gloves, they're comfy, they fit well and they provide a decent amount of protection for your hands. The down sides are the quality, but for the price I guess you can't expect everything. After a few months of use the seem on one finger has split open an inch or two and the paper thin leather finger tips has completely worn away.
I'm not sure how I worked without these, padding seems good, and you can use a smartphone with them on as well. Did have to trim back a bit of the piping inside as it rubbed against my hand but otherwise I can't fault these
