bought this for my girlfriend as the conditioner to go with the Aveda Blue Malva shampoo. after having used the product for few weeks after the aveda blue malva shampoo it stated to turn her natural salt and pepper hair beige. AVOID as it is very expensive and will ruin your hair natural colour making it dull and beige. Would want a full refund if possible.
I bought my Aveda Blue Malta shampoo and conditioner products at the Aveda Beauty School when I lived in south FL. Moved to an area without an Aveda Beauty School, so ordered the Aveda Blue Malta conditioner here on Amazon. While the color and consistency of the product, the fake chemical mint fragrance was not the product I’ve used in the past. Leads me to believe this product may be counterfeit. The fragrance took my breath away, and not in a good way. The overpowering smell actually made me ill. So much so, I re-washed my hair in the shower and used a different conditioner. Authentic Aveda products smell yummy. This conditioner definitely was not.
It may have some blue malva, but it has dye and chemicals and smells like clairol temporary hair color in the drugstore. I canT get it out of my hair and moreover it didn't help the yellow ends of my silver hair. STINKS.
I have used the Aveda color conditioners in the past for many years. I do know them to be a little messy and you need to wipe down the shower after applying to keep from staining. They also will stain your hand and around your fingernails if you don't use gloves. I have specifically used the blue malva, clove and the black in the past. The product is more is a stain and it typically very effective. Either Aveda has reformulated the product such that it no longer works OR this product is not authentic. I suspect the latter. This product does not leave any trace of staining anywhere actually...not even your hands.
This is a great product. Aveda Blue Malva Shampoo and Conditioner are the only products I choose to use. It conditions my hair very nicely and keeps the gray silvery bright. But I'll never buy it here again because Nordstrom's has it $5/tube cheaper. And the packaging from the manufacturer is horrible. They sold me the shampoo in a big 24 ounce bottle and then separately sold me a pump for the bottle, but the pump only comes in packs of two, so, I naturally expected that I could buy a similar bottle of cream rinse and use the second pump in that, but, no, oh, no, they want to sell me this little 8.5 ounce tube instead, and good luck squeezing all the conditioner out of that tube! I really don't need a tube of anything hanging around my shower and the manufacturer is remiss not to offer a large size in a bottle even if it is unreasonably expensive. So my complaint is that the manufacturer does not make this in a size and bottle which matches their own shampoo and can be used with their own pumps, and I further object to price gouging on Amazon, when this product can be bought cheaper elsewhere.
