To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Great concept, however it doesnt really have the robustness to do what it should, IE make spirals and slices out of root vegetables. The handle broke after doing 5 potatos! It needs to be made out of heavier guage plastic or aluminium to be effective.
Its ok. Does the job. Plastic feels thin and flimsy though. Suction cups give us problems and it keeps sliding as we spin it even though we've tried using it on multiple different surfaces. Not the easiest to clean either. Amazong price we paid was just a bit more than what it was selling for at WalMart, which we found out after we had already bought it. I would invest in a better quality one next time if this was a tool we use often, but we've only used it a few times.
slippery, tough for some vharder veggies. The whole thing would work much better if it was designed as a clamp instead of a moving pusher. I.E. the lever should be actioning a screw mechanism.
Overall it is ok, but for turnip and carrots it's difficult. I was hoping to do half and half pasta/veggies, I guess I'll do it mostly with zucchinis as it is just too long with carrots and turnips and squashes might be ok for a couple were you need less, but with three kids that's too tedious
I purchased this spiral slicer a year ago, and, only used it once. Was easy to clean, the variety of blades was great. I liked the idea that electricity was not necessary and that the blades stored away neatly.
The problem is that I am left handed. Very, very awkward for me to turn with my less dominant right hand. It would be great if the hold on lever was reversible so that I could hold it with my right hand and turn the crank with my dominant left hand.
This was a little bit misrepresented as the same item image was posted as a Paderno brand. I have only had it for a short time but for the length of time we have used it, it has worked wonderfully. Great for getting the kids (and adults) to eat their veggies! The only reason it has a lower ranking is because I felt as though it was advertised as a Paderno product but it wasn't.
It does what it is supposed to do, but the largest blade to make potato curly fries (which is the main reason for the purchase) makes the fries too small/thin and they do not cook into satisfying fries. It also leaves a potato core, when guided through the machine, which is wasteful/inconvenient. I don't recommend this item unless you MUST have curly food. There are better food slicers/processors out there.
i've had this for a few years now. It works fine, but is very bulky and annoying to clean. I used it a few times, but in hindsight i should have bought something a bit smaller for the amount of use it gets. Also, it only works well for large vegetables otherwise there's a lot of waste.
Takes some getting used to and feels a bit cheap, but it cuts without a problem. Suction cups don't hold the machine sturdy enough so you still need to hold it with one hand while turning with the other.
The spiralizer is compact & easy to assemble, disassemble, and store... The foodholder attachment is not as sturdy as I had hoped and I think could be a bit wider and sharper as the food sometimes tend to twist out. Some produce are easier to spiral than others but they have to be of similar shape, size, and density.... Great design but I find that I have to wash the whole thing after use as the juices seem to flow under the storage area, which works out to be a little too much work for me... More room for improvement..
