I have had blepharitis for decades. If you have it you know it never goes away. Its symptoms might get better for a little while but vigilance with self care is very important to keep it under control. 5 months ago I got a really bad bout and even with all the self care - warm soaks and baby lotion washing - it seemed to not be improving at all. I then tried the Ocusoft wipes and they helped but they also irritated my eyes (more than the baby shampoo) and they would burn and be constantly red and not from the blepharitis. Then I tried this Ocusoft Lid Scrub Foaming Eyelid Cleanser and self care first off became much easier but more importantly signs of improvement showed in less than a week of two times daily use. At first I thought it was irritating my eyes. I use it in the shower after a warm eye soak, applying it to my fingers and gently wiping back and forth with emphasis on the troubled areas. At first there was redness and the lid seemed a little irritated. But it was obviously because it was being fully cleaned for after a few days it eased up. Now after 2 weeks there is no irritation when I us it. This shows me it was not the product but merely how sensitive my eyes were due to the blepharitis. Now I use it in the morning after a warm soak and at night in the shower just wetting my eyes first. Now my eyes are never red, lids not at all swollen and I am very happy. Lastly this product lasts a real long time and the pump is very convenient to use. This large size bottle is not available in any store near me so thank you Amazon. Highly recommend and really give it a bit of time to have its full benefit. Remember how bad blepharitis can be, so it will take some time for a product to work. No more burning eyes for me.
This stuff has saved my eyes. I suffer from blepharitis (ouchy aching inflamed eyes caused by malfunctioning oil glands), and at first I was using the individual packeted eyelid scrubs every day. This stuff is so much easier. You just get your eyes nice and wet and hot in the shower, and then you put a little on your fingers, rub it onto your closed eyes. Voila! My blepharitis hasn't flared up in years. Also, it's so much less expensive than the packeted scrubs. One bottle lasts me almost a year, using it every day.
This wash is fantastic for those suffering with blepharitis. My ophthalmologist recommended that I use the Ocusoft wipes, which are basically the same thing as this but in wipe form. The wipes are available in most drugstores for $15 for 30 wipes, so I initially bought this to save money. Honestly though, I think this wash works way better than the wipes. I clean my eyes with it in the morning and at night, and it helps avoid flare-ups or styes. Highly recommended!
I have been using OcuSoft products for a few years, including the foaming eyelid cleanser. I just received this bottle, and it smells like fragrance has been added to the cleanser. It doesn't list fragrance on the bottle as an ingredient, but I am allergic to fragrance and smelled it right away. I also compared the new bottle with the old bottle I have, and there is a noticeable difference in the smell. I hope they can figure this out, because I rely on Ocusoft to keep my eyes happy.
My daughter had a problem with a chalazion as well as several styes over the course of a year. In my research, I discovered Ocusoft Lid Scrub eyelid cleanser and ordered it after reading the positive reviews. It's been two months now and my daughter has been using it twice a day to cleanse her eyelids --her eyelids are looking better and better every day! The chalazion has almost entirely disappeared and she has had no more styes! I'm having her continue to use this to prevent further problems...what a relief to find it's working so well for her!
I used to get psoriasis flare ups on my eyelids and other parts of my body. With some research I discovered this product from Ocusoft. It works really well to gently deflake the scales and is not irritating. I no longer have to pay for a special prescription for my eyelids because I haven't had a flare up there in yrs. I also use it to take off any eye make up - mascara, eyeshadow, both pencil and liquid eyeliner. I have since ditched my eye make up remover and no longer need any cotton balls or cloths. (No I don't wear eye makeup daily; nor when I have psoriasis.) I also used to get styes when I was in hs/college but I haven’t had any occurrence since I began using this product years ago. This bottle lasts me well over a year! However I am disappointed that the price has since gone up - perhaps from a different seller. I last paid $16.80 and now it's two dollars more.
After using about 1/4 of this eye scrub the pump no longer works. I tried contacting Ocusoft but was told "they do not manufacture this product and cannot tell me who does. All I wanted was a working pump so I could continue to use the remaining liquid. I didn't expect Amazon to accept a return since I have already used the product however, the Amazon rep was able to offer me a small promo credit. Ocusoft should take note of good customer service like Amazon.
UPDATE: I was able to reach out to a different CS rep at Ocusoft and she (Mary) was much more helpful and understanding than (Karen). As a result of Mary, I am increasing my rating to 3 stars for her service. The product is still not worthy of a higher star rating if the pump fails.
