This ink is great value - I've been using it in a Lamy Safari fountain pen and it's given me great results (even with the EF nib, which can be scratchy at times if the ink lacks lubricity). The colour is a nice traditional blue - as much as I like inks that are unique/interesting, it's important to have a more conservative colour for my work. Something makes me think people might have trouble taking me seriously if I write my notes in sparkly purple ink then turn around them and ask them for my fee.
Very disappointed indeed. This ink is so watery it floods through ALL my fountain pens. I usually use Diamine inks, but liked this shade of blue and thought, wronglt it would seem, that Waterman ink should be of a high quality? So either this is fake or a bad batch, won't be buying again. Gonna stick with diamine. Give 2 stars because the glass bottle is excellent, so have emptied the awful Waterman ink and will use the bottle for one of my Diamine inks.
This is nice enough ink, and the box clearly states erasable. I know there is quite a bit of conjecture about the word 'erasable'. Some say it simply means 'not waterproof'. As far as I am concerned (and I have a lot of fountain pens and Inks) Erasable at least means that you can erase what you have written using a good quality eradicator pen. Waterman Serenity does not erase so only 3 stars even though it is nice ink.
Waterman offers good consistency, nice colors, a well balanced flow and good coverage at a reasonable price. They are my favorite ink together with the more liquid but more expensive Rohrer & Klingner. Waterman works well with pens that have good ink flow. R&K works with all pens but excels when the ink flow is smaller. There are many other pen companies that market ink under their brands at higher price points but none that I tried is better than Waterman while being more expensive (Pelikan has bad coverage, Lamy is awfully muddy).
