I have an old pair of timberland work boots that have stood the test of time. 20 years worth but the soles are worn out. I think I might just look into have them re-soled. The Timberlands of today seem to be cutting corners and the focus does not seem to be on durability. It comes down to something as simple as the shoe lace eyelets. These semi-plastic eyelets or whatever they are will not last. I have another newer pair of Timberland steal toes that are a perfect example. I had to buy and replace eyelets myself because they are plastic and failed after only a year or two. Failed meaning they come out of the hole because the plastic ring on the back side breaks. Also, the upper materials are lighter but in no way are as durable as in the past. Sad to say but Timberland is not what it used to be. Returned them.

I feel that these would be a fantastic shoe. I wore these shoes for a day and did nothing but walking to make sure they would be broken in for the work week. The moment I put on I could feel a sort of "pressure" on my upper heel from the stitching and thought they just need to stretch a little. The next day I put on and took a step off a curb the stitching that is causing this pressure ended up just taking a jumbo amount of skin off my heel. Very painful.

Timberland has missed the boat in their Pro line. This was the 4th of 5 pair o bought and returned. The first pair were too tight at a whole size larger and had been worn before they were sent to me. The last pair I bought were pinching in the ankles and left me hobbling to my car for my old shoes. Unfortunately they got chemicals in them or in would send them back, too!

I've been wearing these for work on our small farm over the past 2 years. They are extremely comfortable. The laces are garbage, and started breaking within maybe 6 months; not a big deal. I'm guessing I've probably worn these about 100 times, and I'm a bit disappointed that the leather is already tearing and starting to peel off at the toes for both shoes. Maybe this is a care/use issue on my end, but I've not had this problem in the past with boots, which tend to last me about 5 years before needing replacement.

I bought a pair of the soft toes over 4.5 years ago and they were the best work shoe I have ever owned. Comfortable, tough, soft soles...really perfect.
Something has changed it seems; the Safety Toe shoes seem to be small (Even though I ordered a wide) and the soles were really hard.
I wore them for five or six days and shipped them back to Timberland. (They have a thirty day comfort guarantee policy. If you wear them and they are uncomfortable, you return them and they refund what you spent. Although it cost $18 to send them back via USPS)
Maybe the soft toes are fine...the safety toes were awful.

These are decent shoes. Fairly comfortable but bit as comfortable as I was hoping after seeing the reviews. Actually, the right shoe hurt the back of my foot fir about the first week but was better after a break in period. I would not recommend these shoes if you spend much time on your knees. The toes wore through quickly. I’ll definitely be looking for shoes with better toe protection next time.

For my feet, the safety toe on this shoe digs into the big toe on my left foot. This has left me with a nasty blister and feet screaming for relief after 9 hours of wear. The shoe itself appears well constructed (aside from the sole splitting issues.) The leather isn't particularly soft, but it does appear durable. The weight on the shoes is good and the sole provides adequate slip resistance. I imagine these shoes would be great for a lot of people, but they simply aren't comfortable for my feet. This is one shoe I would try on before you buy.

The shoes are very comfortable and looked well at the beginning, But after one week the toes began to scuff.
The picture is after 4 weeks. I do electrical work indoor for P&G very clean environment.90% of my work is drawings and paper work, I would normally have all the ware on the bottom of my shoes and the rest would be like new after 12 months. Looks like I wont get 6months from these. They even get scuffed taking them on and off.
I would not buy these shoes again , I paid duty to get these shipped to Ireland. Very disappointed.

I bought these because I loved my boots of the same style. However, I won't buy them again. Two pairs of boots and one pair of oxfords and they all cracked in the soles at the exact same spot. Once they crack they act like a sponge and pull water into the foot box and soak your socks, making for a very uncomfortable day. Until they crack they are super comfortable and stylish. It very well may be the shape of my foot or the way I walk but none of them lasted more than 6 months. I need a longer wearing shoe.

3 stars because 'no arch support' due to the fact that I had to remove the dictionary thick liners. If you have really, really flat (I mean like 1 inch high feet) you'll probably be ok. I'm hoping they'll wear out a bit so I can put liners back in. Overall they seem well made and look good. Width is fine and roomy. Worth $100+ bucks? Nah.
