L-Arginine increases uric acid in the blood and kidneys. The first time I took this (1000 mg/day), 3 weeks later I had a major gout attack in my knee. The second I took it (8 months later), I developed a uric acid kidney stone, also 3 weeks later. I don't think there is anything wrong with the product itself, but the dosage is definitely too high for my system even when I drank a gallon of water over the course of a day. I will never take it again. Use this with caution, and drink *lots* of water.
This L-Arginine manufacturer seems to bill itself as a premium family own company. While their claim may be true, I didn't notice any difference in the efficacy of the product. I did get some bloating during the first few days of taking NOW L-Arginine but that rapidly went away.
I've had reactions to this type of arginine. Something that didn't happen with the previous bottle I bought. It was a different brand but lower potency. Not sure what's different but I can't take these anymore
