My mistake for not checking the size of the bag - paid about £15 for a tiny 120g bag, assumed it was a big sack because of the price and I was in a bit of a rush, chose it based on the reviews.
Reason for poor review: 1. Totally overpriced for what it is 2. Dog not really interested in it as they’re just like small biscuits. He’s much more interested in the ‘wetter’ type of snacks we got later (Harrington’s) which also do not have cereal - which was the main criteria for the snacks I was looking for. Incidentally, Harrington’s grain free snack baked 100g for £1 much more value for money and much sought after by my dog.
My puppy cannot get enough of these...he goes nuts for them. I started buying Wellness food on the recommendation of my vet and several other people as he was really little when we got him - 'the runt' of the litter - and now he is thriving so I figured we would stick to the brand with the treats.
I am wondering if this company puts something in these as my ordinarily sweet and snuggly little toy Australian Shepherd completely loses it when he sees the package or we even go near the area the treats are kept. He actually got the treats and took them into his bed and it was an ordeal trying to get them away from him - see attached picture.
These are excellent training treats. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Five stars.
In addition I did research on this brand (I have a coworker who had a pet die due to contaminated/recalled pet food and this is a concern for me) and wellness has an excellent track record. These treats have never been recalled so far as I have been able to see.
Terrible! My puppy is pretty small so I thought I would cut the bits in half. While cutting I found glass-not just a small shard-but multiple shards plus bits of very sharp bones. I would never buy this nor would I ever recommend it. We will be contacting Wellness Pet Foods as soon as they are open. I'm only giving 1 star as amazon will not allow a post with zero.
My puppy loves these treats. This is the perfect training treat as puppies love them even my 7 year old went crazy for them. Using these my puppy has been trained off the leash, he comes when called, he sits and gives a paw. He is currently learning lay down, going to his bed and down as he likes to jump. My puppy is just over 4 months and these treats have been awesome. If your puppy is not food motivated then these probably wouldn't help but it is worth a try. These are also reasonably priced and the ingredients are good. I would recommend.
My dog loves these things. Great for teaching soft mouth as the are tender and you can let the dog nibble little bits from your hand and correct when they get too close to being painful. Teaching a puppy that has left its litter at 8 Weeks to control their bite is an extremely important part of raising a puppy that not many people pay enough attention to. If breeders let the puppies go at 12-14 weeks, it is not as big of an issue, but it is rare that happens.
My puppy LOVES these treats, so I do too. They smell really good and the ingredients are excellent (first ingredient is lamb!). Also, they are soft so they're easy for him to eat, making rewarding him a little easier. I have crunchy cookie treats at home and they are better for keeping him busy since he has to sit down and actively eat them, but that's not so great when I want to reward him instantly. Of all the soft treats we've tried (including Zuke's minis, which we also love!), these are the softest and easiest for puppy to eat. They're also perforated so I can split them in half or even in quarters. My Willow is a 10-pound chihuahua puppy, so a quarter of a treat is definitely still a decent sized treat. I've been able to stretch a bag of these a lot further thanks to this. And as long as you make sure to seal it (it is resealable), they don't dry out or get crumbly.
My puppy is crazy about this 1. It smells really good. Whenever I walk my dog, there must be other dogs chasing me for the treat. 2. Soft. Even though it could not help with his teething problem, but it still attracts his attention. 3. Large amount, fair price. I would not consider it as cheap, but there are a lot of pieces inside the package. However, my puppy loves it way too much that he does not want other treats any more...
