I have been looking for a Mandoline ever since and bought branded ones like the Benriner & Swissmar but not to my preference. This Prepworks by Progressive is easy to use with no detached blades to insert and buts or shred the vegetables that I usually use. The made and color was perfect too, I just hope that this will last for a long time to enjoy!
This mandolin does not take up too much space and is so easy to use and clean! The dial adjuster is such a good design, it keeps your hands away from the blade when adjusting size and cut style. Many other mandolins make you switch out blades or have dials very close to the blade, which is just asking for trouble. Just remember to use the guard because that blade is sharp.
I love this slicer. We used the first one constantly until it gave out, but it survived four years at the hands of my thug Hubby. I bought the Microplane version locally to replace it. Big mistake, it didn't last two days. Found this one again and am so happy. We use the julienne feature almost daily for salads, stirfrys and wraps, so this user friendly flick of the switch is awesome. It feels substantial in the hand, the rubber actually grips and the safety lock actually covers the blade and doesn't flap around. I discovered, of course Hubby had to modify it slightly - some Canadian humour in the picture!
I gave this 3 stars because I could not get the very thin slices I like in some recipes even on the lowest setting. Over all for quick slicing this is pretty good. I don’t use my very large mandolin because I need to set it up in a large counter space and change blades. Overall this slicer is a handy gadget.
This mandoline slices really well. I would love this mandoline if it wasn't for the fact that it is not sturdy. Not even two days after purchasing the adjustment regulator fell off and I couldn't put it back on. When holding it you can feel that it could all break apart anytime... I don't recommend.
