This ink came highly recommended as a good waterproof ink for sketching using a fountain pen. It hasn't disappointed me so far. It is quite a dark black, dries reasonably quickly and, as promised, is waterproof once dry.
Have used several black inks and never been totally happy till I tried this one. Have sold the other bottles and will be guying this from now on. Prefer brighter colours, so this will be my only black.
* Reasonably quick drying (not fast, but faster than some of my other inks). * Smooth writing. * Extremely black ink! It is made with carbon microparticles which makes it very black. * Waterproof and fadeproof (an earlier test of this ink has been sitting the sun for close to a year and hasn't visibly faded)
* When the bottle is full, the internal reservoir doesn't work very well. * This is a rather expensive ink. * As a pigment ink, you can smudge it even when it is dry. It doesn't smudge easily but it is possible. * If it dries out or comes into contact with other inks it turns into a sludge that can clog up your pens. Regular cleaning and a pen that doesn't dry too quickly is essential.
Ive used black lamy ink and it doesn't even come close to how good these carbon inks are. The black's are deep and dense which unlike the black lamy inks are purely opaque black. What I also love about these are that theyre 100% waterproof, obviously give the ink a few seconds before going on top with water colour.
