I used this for years, and I loved this grooming clay. I have quit using it because all the chemicals, synthetic garbage and aluminum that's contained in it. Won't do me much good to have nice looking hair if I've got Alzheimers now will it. I sought out natural grooming clay and I quit using this synthetic garbage. I'm really let down with Aveda, they market themselves as "natural botanicals" yeah sure, you need a degree in organic chemistry to even pronounce the names of all the synthetic chemicals in this junk. With that said, I did enjoy using it till I woke up after having a hair analysis done and my aluminum, level was through the roof. So I deposited it in the garbage can.
I have short, medium thickness hair. Used on dry hair this product has a lot of tug and doesn't provide much control nor hold. Definitely matte finish but leaves hair a little dull and lifeless looking. I don't get the results found on the Aveda product video. Does soften after drying and I like the masculine Aveda scent but not worth the money, imo.
This product applies pretty easily and washes out the same and had a good hold. And I still returned it. I returned it because the fragrance of this product was so overwhelming that it over powered the fragrance I did put on and would not wash out. I could still smell this product the next day After showering with shampoo the night before. It's a pleasant smell but Aveda went way way way too far with the strength of the scent. You will smell it the entire time you have the product in and long after you've washed the product out.
