I initially wasn't going to write a review, but here we go. I love these boots, but they have a major flaw: they keep breaking along the seams.
My first pair broke within the first six months of owning them. The seem along the sole broke, resulting in water/mud entering the boot. I contacted Nomad's customer service, they replaced my boots, with the message: "If you want to extend the use of the boots we advise not to use them in extreme weather conditions or soak them in water because they are water resistance and not water proof". Fair enough, except I never wore them in extreme weather conditions or soaked them in water. Just walked the dog on rainy days.
So I get the second pair of boots in the mail (yay!). Initially I was super happy, only to find out today that the back of the boot is now splitting along the seam. I have worn these boots only during the summer time, when it was nice and dry. Disappointed :( Maybe there is a "break every nomad boot" curse on me, but I will not be purchasing new nomad boots and will be looking for something tougher to walk in.
Was excited to get these as Irma is coming this way and it will be raining awhile. So disappointing when I got them that the style I order based on picture was not what was in the box when I open it. If I wanted cowboy style rain boot then I would have ordered them. Also I love the brighter colors on the picture that is another reason why I orders these. What I received was very muted in color. The first picture is the boots I thought I was ordering the second I what I got.
I ordered these in the navy pattern and theyre adorable. I wanted something affordable and attractive to keep my feet dry when picking up my son from school. I wear a size 8.5 in sneaks and an 8.5 or 9 in dress shoes and boots. I ordered the 8 after reading the reviews here and they fit perfectly in length. The boots are a little loose so they would probably work for wide widths as well. If I don't wear socks my foot lifts out a bit. They are also loose in the ankle area so they wrinkle a bit when I walk but I think most rainboots would do that. Definitely a good buy for less than $45.
**Updated : most of the white pattern has now turned yellow, I have two missing buttons and the toe area allows moisture in. The toes of my socks get wet if I step in a puddle. I still use them because I haven't found anything better.
These boots are cute but poorly made and run small. I had to buy 2 pairs at $35 each. The first pair completely broke after only a few weeks. The second pair has stayed together so far (knock on wood) but are uncomfortable to wear for too long as they are somehow smaller than the last pair I bought in the same size. Both pairs the inserts fell out like the second time wearing them and needed to be replaced. I noticed the price raised from $35 to $50 and I’m appalled-these boots are not worth that. If you plan to spend $50 on rain boots you can find much higher quality.
I loved these and when they arrived I was excited. The colors and everything about them looked perfect for use in my garden. Sadly, I have pretty large calf muscles and couldn't pull the boots up at all. I ended up giving them to my daughter who wears the same size as me and has skinny legs. She loves them!
Originally I was really pleased with these boots. They are cute and fit well. However, I left them on porch for 2 weeks while we were on vacation. They were in direct sunlight for a few hours each day. The color on the boots completely faded and looks terrible now! They went from vibrant and new to looking really old and worn. It just seems like they shouldn’t have faded that much in such a short time. I’m very disappointed.
Very comfortable. Slightly larger than expected, but I don't mind that. Love the colors.
EDIT: After less than a year of light use, there is a crack along the seem in the back of one boot, and the heels have holes on the bottom. You would think that 1/2" heel would be solid, but they are hollow and wear out in no time at all.
I was really excited to get these, cuz it's been raining a lot lately. They fit great.. everything seemed wonderful, but they have zero slip resistance. I have almost slipped and died a couple of times. These are the slipperiest shoes I've ever owned.
This is my second pair of Nomad rain boots in 4 years. They continue to crack in the foot and shaft portion of the boots. They are not left in sunlight or heat and cold. These are so cute, but very disappointing. I take really good care of my shoes.
